The surgery itself went well, although it was more involved than we had realized! M is still in a lot of pain today and is moving very slowly, but is feeling a bit better! I am thankful for him to be on the road to recovery and hopefully we have the worst behind us now!!
Lynn took M to the surgery center and the kids and I followed after I picked them up from school! We arrived about 2:30 and didn't leave until 6:30... ugh!! It was a long time in the waiting area, but I was thankful for at least part of the time we were in the kids waiting area and with two adults watching 2 kids we managed to keep any major meltdowns from occurring! However, once they brought us back out to talk to the doctor and then took us to the recovery room, we were there a long time and the kids were both just done!
Friends have been amazing to us - between texting to check in, calling, providing meals and shuttling the kids to school and back. I'm not sure how we would have done it without them! We are so blessed!!
