Frisbee Golf

This morning, after speech, we had some time and since it was a beautiful morning, we went and played Frisbee golf.  We did this once last year too, but I'm pretty sure C spent the entire time in the stroller.  S is actually pretty good and had a great time and C was enjoying it(even if he couldn't really throw the Frisbee very well!) until about the 8th hole.  We made it through 10 holes and then I decided to call it quits while we were all still happy! Great Tuesday morning with my babies:)

Thankful for Friends

This past Wednesday, M's uncle went to be with Jesus.  It's been a rough week!

A light amidst all the sadness was that I was shown once again that I have awesome friends!  We had dinners with family both Wednesday and Thursday nights and the kids came with us.  Friday night was the visitation, and the kids got the joy of having a babysitter for the 2nd time in their lives:)  And, Saturday, I had some amazing friends that were willing to help watch the kids during the funeral.  They are saints, I tell ya!

Melissa, Ben and Mark were rock stars and kept C for us!  Melissa was brave and made homemade doughnuts with the little guys!  She is just awesome!!!!

Camille, Carter and Blaire allowed S to come play at their house for a bit and then Camille took the older girls to a birthday party for a school friend!  How wonderful for S to still be able to go to her friend's party and get to hang out with all her girl friends from school!

I am so so very thankful for the friends that I have!  I love them dearly(and not only when they watch my babies for me!)!!

All In a Days Work

Today was one of those days that we had 1,003 things to do - at least that is how it seemed!  We ran errands at Dobson's Hardware, Hobby Lobby, Dick's and Ann Taylor Loft; ate lunch at Moe's; got the car washed; C had a dentist appointment; S got her haircut(I took C yesterday while S was in school so at least I only had one to do today!); S had dance; we looked at more houses yet again!

It was exhausting and by the time we finally got home at 8pm, I was ready to just crawl into bed and stay for a very, very long time!!  I'm just glad to have all of that done and behind me!

Little Bo Peep and Swamp Rabbit Cafe

Today was Nursery Rhyme Day at S's school.  All of the kids came dressed as nursery rhyme characters.  S went as Little Bo Peep:)  I asked her what the other kids dressed up as - Mother Goose, Mary(from Mary had a Little Lamb), Cat(with the fiddle), Humpty Dumpty, Jill(from Jack and Jill) and that was all she could remember.  They were all so very cute!

While she was at school, C and I tried out Swamp Rabbit Cafe where we enjoyed some muffins and scones, walked a little on the Swamp Rabbit Trail and C got to sit on an awesome police motorcycle!!

Potty!!

We are not currently potty training, but tonight during dinner C just seemed like he needed to go "number 2" so I asked him if he wanted to go sit on the potty.  He said "Yes!" which didn't surprise me because he loves to sit on the potty and be a big boy, but that is about all he usually does - sit and sit and sit!!

This time I put him on there and he was just talking and talking and not focusing on the task at hand(HA!) so I told him I was going to go eat my dinner and for him to let me know when he was done.  My thought was, here we go again, a marathon potty sitting episode.

I was SO EXCITED, PROUD, SURPRISED when he started yelling that he did it!  He really did go potty - pee pee for the record!  We all ran in there, jumping up and down and giving hugs!  He was so very proud of himself!

Way to go C-man!!

Saturday!

Today started out SO.STINKIN.COLD!!!!

It was low 40s and very windy when we woke up! I was not having happy thoughts as I considered an entire day stuck inside with 3 crazy kiddos(we were watching a friend's little 4-year-old boy for the afternoon)! Luckily, though, it warmed up quite nice and the wind slowed some and we spent hours and hours and hours outside playing today!!

They rode S's pink car from fully-charged to fully-uncharged! They got extremely wet and muddy and loved every minute of it!

All of them should sleep wonderfully tonight with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads! HA!!!

Baby Chicks

Our awesome neighbor is an animal/bug/butterfly guru and we always take full advantage of the cool stuff at her house!!

This afternoon, she had 3 baby chicks born so of course we had to go see them - even if it was pouring rain!  They were so tiny!!  S was so careful and gentle with them as she held them and C tried to be gentle, but did squeeze maybe a bit too tight(oops!)!  The chicks survived though, but were awfully glad to be put back in their incubator!!  HA!

Ms. Anne also had a moth that had just emerged from its chrysalis that S enjoyed holding, as well as many caterpillars and even a disgusting Japanese Beetle!!! Uggg!!  S held everything she had and loved every minute of it!  Good thing Ms. Anne is so cool about bugs because this Mommy is not such a fan!  C held most of the critters too but he doesn't love them like S does, and I honestly don't think he would have held them if his sister had not just done it!

Happy Rainy Friday Afternoon!!

Trike-A-Thon

S had a Trike-A-Thon at school this morning! She has been riding her bike like crazy the past couple of months to practice for the event!! She had a ball!:)

We were concerned about the weather not cooperating, but there was a "plan B" put into place and the kids rode under the covered area at school while it rained! It worked out perfectly!!

I had planned to volunteer to help and be there for the entire thing, but we had to have C's nose set this morning at the hospital(they had to essentially re-break it and put him under in order to pop it back into place....blah!! So, I warned S over and over and over again that she needed to be super careful while she was riding because I wasn't sure if I could handle any more broken bones this week:)

I made it for almost the whole time that her class rode and was so thankful to be there! It worked out perfectly since C fell asleep and slept through the entire thing so I could put 100% focus and attention on my little bike rider!

5 1/2

So while we were in Disney, S hit the 5 1/2 year old mark!

Isn't she beautiful?!?!

She loves art, dance, being with others, talking, watching TV(Sofia the First on Disney Jr is her favorite right now), playing her LeapPad, school, being generally crazy, reading and writing, riding her bike, animals, wearing dresses/skirts, and I'm sure there is much much much that I am missing!!!

She has blossomed into a precious little girl over the past 5.5 years and it is fun to watch her as she grows!

This little girl is always on the go, always has something to say and is always ready for action!!!

Art Morning

Usually after we drop S off at school, C and I hit the gym!

However, the gym is quite crowded with crazy kids in the morning hours and since C has a broken nose, I didn't want to take any chances of further damage! So, I racked my brain of things we could do that are calm activities and decided to try the CAT Studio again with him!

He has been a couple times but has never really enjoyed it before. This time, he still did not love it as much as S does, but he had a great time!! He favored the sand box and painting outside!

I'm glad we gave it another try!:)

It's Tough Being the Little Brother

Being the little brother is tough work!

One minute you are being dressed up like a ballerina and the next minute you have a broken nose after being strapped in a stroller and crashed into Daddy's truck!

Rough day for the little guy!

Disney Day 4 - Magic Kingdom

Today was our last day at Disney World and boy did we make the most of it!!

Again, we arrived early at the park, 8:15am, and watched the train come in with Mickey and others!  We felt like pros this time around and were ready to take on Magic Kingdom!!

There were a few things in Fantasyland that we didn't do the other day and a couple we wanted to do again, so we went that way first.  First stop was getting a fast pass for Winnie the Pooh and then we went to see Enchanted Story time with Belle.  It was amazing!  Both kids participated in the story(as salt and pepper shakers - ha!) and were able to parade around with Belle and meet her!  You have to be a story participant to meet Belle, so I am glad that they took part and were not just sitting in the audience watching!

After that, we rode The Barnstormer(twice, again!), used our fast passes for Winnie the Pooh, drove on Tomorrowland Speedway(S was slightly better this time around, but still was horrible!) and "it's a small world".  There!  We had finished our Fantasyland must-dos for the day!:)

We went and got fast passes for Big Thunder Mountain and then stood in a ridiculously long line to see Jessie and Woody from Toy Story.  Jessie was the one character that S wanted to meet while we were there, even more than any of the princesses, so we wanted to make sure that happened for her!  We ate lunch while we waited in line so that we could kill two birds with one stone!  She was ecstatic when it was finally our turn:)

By the time we got done with the Toy Story characters it was time to return to ride Big Thunder Mountain.  We did rider swap again for this one and I wasn't too sure how S would do on such a big roller coaster but she loves them like her Momma and gladly rode two times!  Afterwards we went and rode Alladin's Flying Carpets, went to the Tiki Hut and rode the Jungle Cruise before settling in to watch the parade!  C was a huge fan of the parade and loved every minute of it!  Not to mention they enjoyed Mickey Mouse ice creams while they waited for the parade to start!  They had it made:)

When the parade ended the crowds were crazy, so we just ducked into Swiss Family Robinson and climbed around before going to grab fast passes for Splash Mountain.  We had quite a bit of time to kill before it was time to ride.  We split up at this point.  M and C went and rode the River Boat and tour the Hall of Presidents while I took S to see Tinkerbell and Rosetta followed by some more fairy dust and a ride on the carousel.

We met back up and rode Splash Mountain!  Again, I wasn't sure how S would do with it, but this ended up being her absolute favorite ride at Disney and she wanted to go again and again and again, but two times seemed like enough!

It was dinner time and we were tired so we ate at the park and took our time before catching the train back over to Fantasyland where we let the kids run like crazies at the splash yard!  They were having an absolute ball and I think they may have stayed there for hours if we hadn't been wanting to go get a good spot for the parade and fireworks.  I had a full change of clothes for each kid so we got them dry and changed and claimed our spots for the parade!

The parade was of course amazing!  Both kids waved and waved!!  C got so ticked off and offended if each character didn't waive directly back at him - it was cute!  After the parade there was a light show on the castle.  We put C back in the stroller to turn it around to face the castle and in that 4 seconds of being in the stroller, he was out for the count and slept until we got on the monorail a couple hours later to go back to our car(he was not one bit happy when he woke up and screamed, but I can't really blame him!).  S loved the light show, the fireworks and watching Tinkerbell fly from the castle.  This part of the trip made it seem truly magical!!  We were all in awe of how wonderful it was to be there and watching S's face was well worth keeping the kids out so so late!

We had told the kids when we got there that they could each get 1 toy before we left.  After the fireworks, while all the other people filed out of the the park, we stopped and let S pick out a toy for her and C(since he was still sleeping).  She chose a Jessie doll for herself and a Woody doll for her brother!

We arrived back at the condo just before midnight and were tucked into bed shortly afterwards!!

It was a wonderful trip and we made so many memories while we were there!  We love Disney World!!

**Don't know why these ended up out of order, but I'm just going to go with it for now!!
