July Camera Dump Before the Beach

Just because:)

Playing Guess Who

Lots of swim drama, but our coach got fired and one of S's
friend's moms from school, who also was a state champion
swimmer in high school, coached for a week until the
assistant coaches got back from the beach!

New floats;)

What you find when your kid has hijacked your phone!

S has started summer dance classes, so C and I have to find lots of things
to do to entertain ourselves for 1.5 hours!

Some of the boys from swim team who C has become friends with!
More "fun" while waiting on S to finish her dance class!

It was actually cool enough for breakfast and art outside!

The kids spent a couple hours cleaning out their rooms and throwing
stuff out!
We did a solar eclipse program at the library and since we got
there a bit early, the kids were able to play checkers!

You'd think after all the swim team happenings that we'd be
tired of the pool, nope!:)

Lazy night movies:)
There was a hawk sitting in our front yard when we left the house
one morning!

C trying to "escape" from the camera:) LOL!

We asked them to fold the laundry and this is what they claim
is "doing a good job" - I beg to differ!!

Ballet and karate are in full swing!

The kids earned their library summer reading awards!

C has been taking piano lessons this summer and is quite
a little pianist:)

I think they were trying to sell something... on our SUPER busy
cul-de-sac street;)

When the cousins come over for dinner and you realize y'all are twins!! Buhahaha!!

The kids LOOOVE their cousins!

A little quiet on the homefront - so very rare!
C's a great help in the kitchen.. all I have to do is turn on
the stove for him and he does the rest:)
C had his well child appointment and checked out great!  He has
grown 3.25 inches and is now 50.25in tall and has gained quite a
bit of weight and comes in at 58lbs!!  Growing like a week!!

Killing time at the library while S was at dance class!  It's hard to
do much that will occupy 1.5 hours!!

Roper Mountain Camps - Week 2

The kids were at their second week of camp at Roper Mountain Science Center this week!  They loved it, of course!!  C did Farm Animals and Garden Fun while S did Culinary Kids!

On Thursday, the parents were cordially invited to join S's class for a delicious, home-cooked meal!  It was all very impressive and she was so proud of herself!  When she brought home the invitation that they made, she promptly displayed it on our pin board in the mud room where all could see:)  It was amazing what her class was able to do in just a week.  The pimento cheese recipe was particularly wonderful and will be made again(They brought all the recipes from the week home with them!  Yay!).  Then, today, they took a field trip to Greenville Tech where they visited the culinary department and made soft pretzels!  C's class did not have an opportunity available to come and observe, but we know he had a good time!

Until next summer, RMSC!!
C came home after camp and brought a peach pit that just had
to be planted in the garden, immediately!!
Proudly bringing home another item to plant - flowers of some sort!
It was in pitiful shape, I hope it revives now that it is planted and
watered!
No words:)

Invitation for our lunch with S!

The spread!

Lunch consisted of sausage/cheese dip, salad w/ "sassy sauce"(S and
her group named it this, not sure what the real name was!), deviled eggs,
pimento cheese, rice pilaf, chicken cordon bleu and lemon filled crepes with
chocolate sauce!

The class at Greenville Tech - because we knew the teacher, I got extra pictures:)

S with Ms. Anne - our old neighbor whom we LOVE!!  She
was S's teacher for the week:)

This morning the weather was slightly cooler than it has been for the past several
weeks, so I took the opportunity to go for a run on the kids' last day of RMSC
camp!  It felt good, but it was still really hot!

VBS

The kids have never done a VBS other than the one offered at our church, but this year when we visited Greer First Baptist in support of their new pastor and our friend, the kids loved it so much on the Sunday and the VBS was scheduled after swim season was over, so we went for it!  I'm SO glad that we did!  What a fun, fun week it was!  Do Good, Seek Peace and Go After It!!

S is on the bottom with the white shirt and bun!

On the last night, the parents were invited to join for a closing message and a hot dog dinner!

What a great week with a great church!!  We are planning to join them again next year!
