18th Annual Turkey Tournament

The day after Thanksgiving the guys go play golf while the girls (well, at least now that we have kids) go downtown to the playground and take a trip to see Santa! When the guys get back, we all meet back at my grandfather's house to have pizza and leftovers and announce the winner of the turkey tournament! We've been doing this for 18 years now and each year brings with it even more crazy memories!

Thanksgiving Day 2011

We celebrated Thanksgiving at my grandfather's house as always and rented the same house again this year that we did last year! I LOVE Thanksgiving - it is my absolute favorite holiday! I love getting a chance to see my cousins, aunts, uncles, well, you get the idea:) We arrived mid/late afternoon on Wednesday and my parents came over to help watch the kids and brought some groceries while we got unloaded and went to pick up dinner. Ahhh... so nice to have help after an EIGHT hour drive!

Thursday morning we woke up to a beautiful, chilly morning and took the opportunity to do some letterboxing(at S's request as she remembered doing it last year) and explored the downtown area and waterfront! There is a new history center right on the marina and they have built awesome piers out into the water and kids' pirate ship playground that was a total hit with both kids(notice S's best pirate face in one of the pictures below!).

We arrived at Papa's house before the crowd so we could get some pictures and just hang out some before the craziness started! This is actually the smallest group at Thanksgiving that I can remember with 3 families totaling 13 people were not able to make it. We missed them, but still enjoyed the relatives that were there!! S had a blast playing with Kyle and Jack and C-man had his own buddies, Dylan and Bo to pal around with! So much fun to have cousins the same age!

Thanksgiving Feast at School

Today was S's K3 Thanksgiving Feast! The kids were able to "cook" their feast with the help of a few very patient moms (I was not there - HA!!) and then they had a feast with the other K3 class. S's class were the Indians and the other class were the pilgrims! SO CUTE!! All of the parents were invited to watch the great feast, but I was home packing the car for our Thanksgiving trip and this is the only time I am free from C-man and can actually get something done so I had to miss it:( I hated it, but I guess I can't do everything! S's best friend in class is Sam(see first picture!). I hear about Sam ALL.THE.TIME and we have run into them while out before so I've met his family - and approve of the friendship! I'm glad, though, that another mom took some pics and got one of the two of them together! Happy Thanksgiving Feast!

We Miss Our Friends!

Our sweet, sweet friends moved a couple of years ago and were back for a visit! They came over for dinner and the kids acted as if they hadn't been away from each other more than a day! I LOVE this family and hope hope hope that they will move back to the area one day! We loved having them here even if it was for only two short hours!!:)
