Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!!

This morning, the kids came into the kitchen to find that the Easter Bunny had found our house! We don't really make the Easter Bunny a part of our celebration, but we do have goodies that he brought waiting in the morning and the kids love it!!

We enjoyed getting dressed up, really we did I am not just saying that, and going to church!  We had a low-key lunch, went grocery shopping, the kids each ate their entire chocolate bunnies, we lounged around(well, the kids were crazies so nobody was doing too much lounging) ate dinner and called it a day!

The conversations throughout the day centered around Easter and the true meaning of it and the celebration that we have because of the crucifixion and resurrection!  I pray that we always keep this as the central part of our Easters!!

Easter Bunny Trail Hop 5k

This morning M and I ran the Bunny Hop 5k!!

It was a trail run which neither of us have ever done before and to make it a little fun, the Easter Bunny hid numbered eggs along the trail. At the end of the race, some of the numbers had corresponding prizes - I got a free cup of coffee at a local cafe, M's number didn't have a prize! M ran it in 26:07 minutes and I ran it in 27:57 minutes!  We'll take those times!

It was a fun fun race but what made it even better was that Grandpa brought the kids along and they got to watch us start and finish! They were in awe and now S is excited and talking about when she is going to run a race when she "is 8-years-old"! A great experience for them and to top it off they had a kids' egg hunt after the race!

It was about 10am when all was said and done and M and I were ready for lunch HAHAHAHA!! We went to Pickwick Pharmacy where there is a soda shop(somewhere I've always wanted to go but never have!) and we all had lunch and the kids enjoyed an old fashioned milkshake!

Thank you, Grandpa, for being a part of our day!!

A Good Good Friday

This morning was beautiful and the kids and I took full advantage of it with a trip to the park! It is nice that C is at the age that he can pretty much do everything by himself! He loves watching S and doing everything that she does - always! He loves her:) Today she decided to crawl around the entire playground area along the wall, crazy girl, and was followed closely by her adoring brother!

Then, this afternoon, Grandpa came to visit so we enjoyed some more outside time!!

It was a wonderful, fabulous, Good Friday!:)

Fear

So the title of this post is a bit dramatic really, but I was reading a blog this morning and here is this person's first day of spring break thought:

"Where things get sketchy is where I found myself thinking around 11 a.m., "I don't think I will survive Spring break." And then I remembered Summer vacation looming, and a small part of my soul died."
Buhahaha!  So I'm not alone!!

Today is pretty much my first day of spring break too!!  S will not be in school again until Friday, April 12 and C won't be back until Wednesday, April 17.  That is mid-April and it is still March!

Then there is summer vacation...

Oh, and just because I think it is pretty neat, after waiting at the end of our street for no less than 30 minutes at what should have been lunchtime(my kids may or may not have had an entire bag of Dum-Dums in lieu of lunch today!), we were able to drive on our newly paved road, and we were the very first ones to do it!  So cool:)

Oh, and yet one more thing!  This post is so random!  When I was at S's Easter party at school yesterday, C's class was out on the playground and I had to walk by it a couple times while hiding eggs and doing the egg hunt.  This is how I found him and a couple of his friends one time!  HAHA!!  They had all backed up and parked their cars and were just hanging out!  Cute:)

K4 Easter Party

Today I was able to help with S's Easter Party at school!!

We set up everything for the party and then went outside to "hide" the eggs for the kids to find:)  They were so cute and so excited about it all!!!  They did a great job finding all but 2 eggs(pretty good when there were about 150 or so eggs hidden!) and then came inside for treats and a game!!

We are out of school now for a couple of weeks for teacher workdays, spring break and then Disney!!!

A Crazy Tuesday

This morning, after C's speech, we met some friends for a play date at PlayNation.  The kids played and had an absolutely fabulous time, we ate lunch while we were there and then played some more!

After we left, I realized we really didn't have time to go home before it would be time to turn around and come back to pretty much the same area we were in for dance, so we headed to the zoo.  I had not seen Kiko the baby giraffe since he was first born and even then he was asleep off to the side of the exhibit and looked more like a large rock than a giraffe!  This time, though, we was there and was running around the exhibit area.  Oh wow!!  I'm not sure I've ever seen a giraffe run in real life and it was so cool!  They are so graceful!!  We sat there and watched him for no less than 15 minutes which is probably a record for my kids!  We checked out some more of the animals and then played on the playground at Cleveland Park right outside the zoo until it was time for S to go to dance class.  I had planned on the fact that we wouldn't be going back to the house and had S her dance clothes in the car to change into before we got there.  Whew!

I also finally took a picture of S in her new car seat!  It is a booster seat, but still has the option to use the 5-point harness.  We will continue to use the harness for a while and when she's a bit bigger we can use the regular car seat strap with this seat as well!  She loves it!!  It sits closer to the actual backseat so she can reach more things down there and it has 2 cup holders which she thinks is pretty cool!!  This seat should last her quite a while!:)

We dropped her off at dance, ran a few errands and C-man passed out from exhaustion!  I wanted to as well so I can only imagine that after 1.5 hours of dance S was wiped out!!

We still had some things to get done after dance as well and didn't walk into our house until 6:45pm... Home Sweet Home!!!  We should sleep really, really good tonight - all of us!:)

This Week

I LOVE my iPhone and Instagram!  I can take pictures wherever, whenever and that is precisely what I do!!!  So convenient!  Although I did even pull out the nice camera some this week just for kicks:)

1. S made a "friend" out of the stuff she found on the back deck one afternoon.
2. My 4Runner reached 100,000 miles.
3. C-man can put on his shoes and socks all by himself and is quite proud!
4-5. Coloring on the back deck.
6-7. Making cars and boats out of diaper boxes.
8. Racing cars down the ramp.
9. Running!
10-11. C and his buddy throwing rocks at the park while their sisters were at dance.
12. New home site???
13. S got a new car seat(pictures to come!) and the box made a great fort:)
14. We went to dinner on Saturday night and happened upon a gospel band playing.  The kids were in heaven and although they were the youngest there by probably 60 years, they begged and pleaded to go back next week!!
