New Years Eve

S spent the night at a friend's, but the rest of us were here and we made it to midnight! This was the first time since having kids that we have stayed up!  Quite honestly, the ball drop was completely anti-climatic!  We watched a movie on a different channel instead and just jumped over during commercial breaks.  It was boring!  Anyway, we made it, toasted in 2022 and went straight to bed!

Well, C and I made it anyway... LOL!!

Hiking and Meeting up w/ Gigi

We needed a day outside, so the kids and headed to Beech Bottom Falls and hiked about 2 miles and then drove up to Sassafras Mountain(highest point in SC).  It felt soooo good to be out in nature!  We then met up with Gigi at Lake Hartwell State Park to return a few things from Christmas that she'd left at our house!  C brought his new Spike Ball game which we played for quite a while!  Then, during an intense round of the game, we managed to bust Gigi's phone!  Ugh!!  THEN, Gigi locked her keys in the car and we had to wait for AAA to get there.  We kept ourselves busy with soccer, ball throwing and whatever else we could busy ourselves with for a couple of hours!  It was an adventurous day, no doubt!  I had promised the kids that on the way home we'd stop at Barnes and Noble and let them use their gift cards.  Well, this was before the whole locking the keys in the car bit.  But, they were relentless and really wanted to stop so I caved and we did and they spent forever looking at books but finally settled on a few each!  What.A.Day!!

Christmas Day

Santa found our house!  There was lots of ripping of wrapping paper and oohs and aahs as the presents were opened.  S got LOTS of clothes and C got all things soccer and video games!  We ate our traditional bacon and cinnamon roll breakfast half way through to make the morning last longer:)  After finishing up breakfast we cleaned up and got ourselves ready to join the Pooles for lunch.  I had started getting a cold during last night's Christmas Eve celebration and I was not feeling 100% so we only stayed for a little bit, but the boys had a good time shooting the guns, as is tradition for them!
