Reading

S LOVES us to read to her and I am sometimes a bad mommy and really, really don't want to since I am usually trying to get something done. Well, this morning I suggested that she read a book to Mr. Bear (her stuffed animal). IT WORKED!!! YAY!

On that same note, she has a new found love of Ring Around the Rosie. Again, I don't always want to play, so I enlisted Ms. Bear earlier this week and the 2 of them play while I sing it for her. Again, YAY!!! Even better, today, she started wanting to sing the song herself and me to stay quiet, no problem! So, her and Ms. Bear play Ring Around the Rosie by themselves.

This must be the beginning stages of her being able to play by herself. Please, please, please!

Don't know why blogger uploaded this sideways??

Mommy's Girl

I LOVE bread and so does my little girl:) We are going to be bad influences on each other!
Can anyone guess where we are in this picture?!? I know some of you frequent this place as much as our family does (I was there twice just this past week - HA!)!!

Garden

This year was M's first attempt at a garden since we've been married. And, boy oh boy are we going to have TONS of fresh fruit and veggies! Here is a list of what we have: corn, lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, red potatoes, carrots, black beans, crowder peas, lima beans, roma beans, okra, artichokes, squash, zucchini, butternut squash, cantaloupe, watermelon and peanuts. I went and saw the garden for the first time yesterday (I can't take credit for any of this!). Our broccoli and lettuce were ready so we picked some and made a great salad tonight to go with our dinner.

S has been out to the garden a couple of times and helped M plant some of the seeds.
My two little farmers:)After picking the vegetables, M took S and me on a ride on the articulated truck. S even got to drive some!
I have come such a long way from my Atlanta days!! Who would have thought I'd be helping to harvest a HUGE garden and riding on machinery?!?! But, I tell ya, I'm having fun doing it:)

Inflatables Fun

This past week we have gone to 2 different indoor inflatable places. The first time was with a playygroup. It took S a while to warm up to the idea of these HUGE, squishy things, but once she did she was in heaven! I was so glad she liked them because I am a big fan of them and wanted to a partner in crime with me!

The second time was with a birthday party. Happy birthday, Rebecca!

This time, M went with us as well and enjoyed it just as much as S and I. We were all tuckered out by the end but had so much fun!!!
The pretty little birthday girl!
I know she is kinda blurry, but that is b/c she was going so fast (and all by herself!).
Is anyone looking at the camera?

Lovin' it!

S and OKW. S had goldfish and M&Ms for her lunch...uggg, so healthy!

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to my mom and to my MIL! Both are the best and deserve a big shout out:)
My mom had to work today so we were not able to see her, but we'll make up for it next time she visits!

We are lucky enough to live just down the street from my in-laws, so we are having them over for dinner to celebrate:) Of course, though, I made sure that the meal was a grill prepared meal so that I was not the one doing the cooking! Thanks, Michael!!

Here is what I received for as my Mothers Day gift. I have a very "financially responsible" husband:) I was told that this is the "new line of Hallmark cards for those on a budget." It is SOOOOO Michael and the best gift I could have received. Although, I did question the limit to 8 hours (a day is 24 hours!).

And, as a tribute to all the mommy's out there, here is a hysterical albeit somewhat inappropriate little poem - HA!!

When me prayers were poorly said
Who tucked me in me widdle bed
And spanked me till me ass was red,
Me Mudder!

Who took me from me cozy cot
And put me on the ice cold pot
And made me pee when I could not,
Me Mudder!

And when the morning light would come
And in me crib me dribbled some
Who wiped me tiny widdle bum,
Me Mudder!

Who would me hair so neatly part
And hug me gently to her heart
Who sometimes squeezed me till me fart,
Me Mudder!

Who looked at me with eyebrows knit
And nearly have a king size fit
When in me Sunday pants me shit,
Me Mudder!

When at night her bed did squeak
Me raised me head to have a peek
Who yelled at me to go to sleep,
Me Fadder!

A REAL Bath

Ever since we took S out of her baby bathtub, she's been having her baths in a blow-up ducky. Well, we finally decided that she was a bit too big for the ducky and moved her into the real bathtub! She liked it okay, but wasn't too sure about it and did not want to dawdle for too long! I think it'll grow on her, though!!

Our Weekend

We had a very busy, very fun weekend this weekend!

Friday night started it off with dinner at Mellow Mushroom and a baseball game. Granted, I don't even know who the visiting team was since M and I pretty much were making sure S didn't bust it in the stands. She didn't sit still the entire time we were there and her favorite part was sitting on her knees, facing backwards watching the boy behind us! We stayed for a few innings, again, I have no idea how many, and then called it a night. S was up WAY past her bedtime but did fairly well!

Drinking from a big girl cup for the first time - and boy was it a mess. She didn't understand the concept that you don't tip it. She was soaking wet by the time we left but at least it was water!!
At the game.Saturday morning we headed down to Family Fest. It was free and there was a ton of stuff for S to do! We went last year but she wasn't old enough to really enjoy anything at that point. Now, it was hard getting her to leave!
The sandbox is ALWAYS a hit!
And, of course, the bubbles!
Checking out all the animals at the petting zoo! She had no fear of sticking her entire arm through the fences to pet the goats - YUCK! And, on Saturday night we had dinner over at some friends' house and S kept giving their little dog kisses, ON THE LIPS!!! UGGG! I do believe our little girl is an animal lover:)
Getting ready for the children's parade.
Sunday morning I was not feeling very good so M took S to church with him to let me rest. I didn't get up until pretty much 3pm!! Feeling much better now:) But, I did miss a friend's baby shower that I am disappointed about.
Needless to say, we spent a pretty lazy Sunday afternoon around the house!

Lovin' her some daddy!
My little cheerleader - GO TIGERS!
A fort:)
