Licensed to Build!!

I work for a home builder, however, I know NOTHING about the homes we build and especially nothing about how to build them. At the beginning of this year, my boss and I got a crazy goal in mind that I should get my Residential Builders License. I know, sounds ridiculous and worthless since you will never catch me actually building a house. But, nonetheless, I decided to give it a shot! There are 4 parts to the test and they are administered quarterly. So, the first test date was at the beginning of this month. I took Part 1 and got the results today - I PASSED?!?!?!? I thought for sure I had failed. In fact, there wasn't a question in my mind that I didn't fail. Apparently, though, I got very lucky!! I had already put it out of my head that I was not going to pursue the next 3 parts, but who knows, maybe I will now. My company pays for me to take it, all I have to do is show up. Maybe I'll take the next one in June, maybe! Imagine, me, a builder - HA!

SPRING!!!!

I am SO LOVING THIS WEATHER!!! It makes me not want to be at work and just go outside and play all day:) I can't wait until it stays lighter just a bit longer and there is time for walking after dinner. That, I think, is my favorite thing to do this time of year! Trees are starting to get leaves, our bushes are budding and our grass is beginning to turn green again - YAY!! I love putting on a skirt and going downtown for the evening to eat dinner and then getting ice cream and walking around the park! Oh, and baseball! I LOVE ME SOME BASEBALL!! Greenville's team, the Drive, built a beautiful stadium right in the West End district of downtown and it is perfect for an inexpensive, fun-filled day or night:)

We don't have any big trips planned for the spring, it seems like weddings and showers have totally engaged us on our weekends. I would really like to get away to Savannah or Charleston before the summer comes and it is too hot and crowded to truly enjoy the towns!

So I still haven't figured out how to post pictures. I thought I was pretty good at figuring that kind of thing out, but oh was I ever wrong! I don't have that many pictures to post, since I don't have that many posts, but I would like to show one of my puppy! Oh well, one day I'll get someone to give me a Blog Tutorial!

I am a part of 2 bible studies right now. Last night I went to one of them and we are doing Jesus the One and Only by Beth Moore. It is sooo good! We are almost done with it and I am really sad. I think we will be starting another one in a few weeks just to give us a bit of a break. The group of girls is awesome! We really get into the Word and have wonderful discussions about Christ and His life. I am so glad that I was asked to join, even though I don't go to the church that it is through!

Here are some random trivia thoughts to ponder:
  • If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both legs in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle; if the horse has all 4 legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.
  • Mel Blanc, the voice of Bugs Bunny, was allergic to carrots.
  • Firehouses have circular staircases b/c the engines were at one time pulled by horses and the horses learned to climb straight staircases.
  • Taft was the last president with facial hair.
  • When the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers play football at home to a sellout crowd, the full stadium becomes the 3rd largest US city.
  • Honey is the only food that cannot spoil.

So, I obviously was bored and didn't have too much to write today! Oh well!

Very Random Thought

I was typing a couple of emails this morning and realized something - I use the "!" a LOT! I mean, I don't even try to do it, it is just a habit!! Maybe it is because everything in my little brain is just so exciting to me that I feel it needs a "!" at the end of it!?!?! And, if it is really funny or a good thought, then it deserves "!!" or "!:)". I know it isn't good to use one at the end of every sentence, but a "." is just so boring! I'm at a loss of what else to do!!:)

Redneck Capital of the World!!!

So, we went to Gatlinburg this weekend. Wow! There is so much redneck happenings there that we really didn't know what to do with ourselves! We decided to go on vacation there b/c it only cost $30 for 3 days and 2 nights since we did one of those time share deals. Of course we didn't buy one, but we hadn't planned on it! We ate a lot, as if that is unusual and walked around and window shopped at all the junk stores. We also went to a place called Wonderworks. It was actually really neat! It had TONS of interactive stations, an earthquake simulator and so much other stuff. On Sunday morning we woke up and there was SNOW covering the ground! We were definitely not prepared for that! We had to walk everywhere since parking is not convenient and about froze! All in all, it was a good getaway, but I don't think we'll go back anytime soon!
