Originally, President's Day Weekend was only a THREE day weekend! However, with the snow last week, it has been a SEVEN day weekend! HAHA!
I had wanted to do something different since it is rare that I have both the kids all day during the week!
We went to the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, NC and it was so fun and very different! The snow was still all over the area up there and it was a good 10 degrees colder than when we left home! I had debated about whether or not to take their big coats or their lighter ones - I had settled on taking both and am very glad that I did! I wish I had thought to be bring me a heavier coat!!!
We got there like an hour early! I had no idea what to expect when we arrived and we got there in 20 minutes less time than Google had said we would! Soooo, we had plenty of time to run out some of our energy while we waited for the class to start! We had a class about turtles and the kids got to make themselves turtle "costumes", had story time with the educational director there and learned a lot about turtles(S later made a list of all that she had learned on the way home! She loves to "play school"!) and went exploring around the grounds(the teacher dubbed C a "free range kid" because he was off doing everything he wasn't necessarily suppose to be doing(climbing little rare trees that had been planted, jumping off rocks, picking up sticks, sliding through the snow, stepping in the mud, etc, etc!)) to end a great morning!
