Kindergarten Field Trip - Peace Center

Last month S's class was suppose to go to the Peace Center to see The Very Hungry Caterpillar performance, however there was a snow storm in NYC and the performers could not get here, so it was rescheduled for today!

I love getting to go on field trips with her class(although they are exhausting!) and really like that I got to go see a show this time as well!  Score!

Everyone had such a great time!

Me and my sweet girl(and a blurry picture but that is what happens
when there's a 5 year old photographer behind the camera!)

S and Jaidyn (now I am the photographer with a blurry picture,
but in my defense we were on Mr. Toad's Wildride on our ride
back to the school!!)

Krispy Kreme

I hurt my neck/shoulder/back when I got hit by that sledder a couple of weeks ago and keep doing things to re-injure it so this week I have vowed to take it easy and haven't been to the gym!  This gives me and the boy some extra time in the mornings to find stuff to do!  This morning he had gymnastics at 10am giving us a little free time beforehand to go to Krispy Kreme!  He was in heaven!!!

Other Pictures

These are not in any particular order!  Just some pictures from the past couple of weeks that I wanted to get on the blog before I forgot about them!

My bathing beauty!
Brother wanted to join her w/ his glasses on!

I had to get a close-up because it was just too funny! She
even has her headband/necklace on(she wears it like this a lot!)
and her fan to accessorize with!  I don't know where she comes up with
this stuff!!!!!

Found this note in S's backpack:
"Do you like me?"
From Ayden
To Stella
Her first "love note"!:)

S had visitor's week at dance and was very excited that
Gigi was able to come watch!

Can you tell she's a camera ham!!??!:)
I didn't think I would be able to stay the entire 1.5 hours
and watch, but this little guy was amazing!! I got to be
there until the end:)
This happens quite frequently these days!

S is loving dance now!  Dolled up with arm warmers and leg warmers:)

C's teacher taught them how to make hearts with their hands!
He was very proud of himself!

Look out!!
The house is coming along!  Sheetrock starts tomorrow:)
This is from the stairs, looking into the kitchen.

From the living room, looking into the dining room.

These kids play SO MUCH better together when the neighbors
are not over - which is SO RARE!!!!  Usually there is a swarm
of kids in our driveway every afternoon!

Morning in Travelers Rest

The kids have really gotten into riding their bikes lately and are both able to ride without training wheels and get themselves started by themselves, so we took advantage of this amazing weather we are having and went to the Swamp Rabbit Trail to ride! It was pretty crowded and the kids about took out more than one other biker, but thankfully, they didn't:)  They did however, each have a pretty good crash while we were out there! C went off the side and landed headfirst in a puddle(it was all M and I could do not to laugh!)!  Other than being muddy and wet, he wasn't hurt, and he rallied on!  S's fall was a little more traumatic as she fell on the pavement and landed sideways on her hip.  It's a very good thing we were in sight of the car and I carried her bike the rest of the way while she limped back:)  I know it hurt, but I think there was a little dramatic effect thrown in as well!  HA!  I think the kids rode a total of about a 1-1.5 miles while M and I ran to keep up!  We all got our exercise and fresh air this morning!

Afterwards, there is a new restaurant in downtown TR that I've been wanting to try, Whistlestop Cafe!  It did not disappoint!  They had two trains outside that we played on until they opened and then when we went inside there was a train going around the ceiling, decor to die for!, a beautiful fireplace, kids' meals that come in train boxes, a whistle the kids could pull after finishing their food and just an overall amazing atmosphere!!  We were the first ones there(obviously, if we were waiting for it to open), but by the time we left at 11:40am, there was already a line out the door!  Glad we were there early and apparently we aren't the only ones impressed by it!!

It was hard for us to keep up!!

She accessorized with a skirt for our excursion!

Notice how wet he is from his fall off the bike!

S First Soccer Practice

S was suppose to start soccer practice last week, but due to the snow, it was delayed until this week!

She has been so excited and ready to start and this day couldn't have gotten here soon enough:)  Four friends from church are on her team this year AND Coach Tim is her coach again!

I am going to enjoy this season because the field that S practices and plays on is right next to the playground, and some of C's friends sisters are on S's team so he is happy as can be to play with his friends as well!  WIN!!!

She's going to have such a fun season!

PS - She is the one in the purple shirt and black pants - yes, I am one of the only moms who made her kid wear pants!  Oh well!!

President's Day

Originally, President's Day Weekend was only a THREE day weekend!  However, with the snow last week, it has been a SEVEN day weekend!  HAHA!

I had wanted to do something different since it is rare that I have both the kids all day during the week!

We went to the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, NC and it was so fun and very different!  The snow was still all over the area up there and it was a good 10 degrees colder than when we left home!  I had debated about whether or not to take their big coats or their lighter ones - I had settled on taking both and am very glad that I did!  I wish I had thought to be bring me a heavier coat!!!

We got there like an hour early!  I had no idea what to expect when we arrived and we got there in 20 minutes less time than Google had said we would!  Soooo, we had plenty of time to run out some of our energy while we waited for the class to start!  We had a class about turtles and the kids got to make themselves turtle "costumes", had story time with the educational director there and learned a lot about turtles(S later made a list of all that she had learned on the way home!  She loves to "play school"!) and went exploring around the grounds(the teacher dubbed C a "free range kid" because he was off doing everything he wasn't necessarily suppose to be doing(climbing little rare trees that had been planted, jumping off rocks, picking up sticks, sliding through the snow, stepping in the mud, etc, etc!)) to end a great morning!

Yeehaw!!

Today was C's BFF, Mark's, birthday party  - cowboy style!!

The kids had a ball riding the John Deere Gator, sitting on the horse(it was too wet to actually go for rides...bummer!), feeding carrots to the horse, running the obstacle course and of course eating cake!

Happy 3rd birthday, Best Bud(that's what C and Mark call each other!)!!

She LOVES animals!!

Yeehaw!!

S and Morgan met at the beach this summer and picked up right
where they left off!

Cowgirl and Cowboy

The obstacle course

He really enjoyed hanging "like a monkey" more than
running the course!  HA!!
