us with breakfast!!  And it was just what we needed!

Halloween 2020

Our new neighborhood has a lot of kids and they have a huge Halloween celebration!  This year, from what I gather, is a bit different because of COVID.  Usually the party is hosted at someone's house and this year it was in the cul-de-sac.  I'm good with that!  The weather was perfect for an outdoor party!  S went as a rock start and C as the Grim Reaper. We partied with our neighbors before trick or treating and then the Similas joined us for the actual trick or treating part of the night!  The kids had a ball running from door to door, even the middle schoolers!  When we finished walking the neighborhood, we came back to the house and the kids did their candy exchange and played Night in the Museum around the house while we the adults visited!  A great first Halloween at our new house!

MOVING DAY!!

Well, we finally moved today!!  It was a LONG day of moving but we are in the new house!  It's a bit bittersweet!  We have some great memories in our old house and there are aspects of the old house that we like better than our new house, but we are ready to be closer to all of our activities and in a neighborhood with a ton of kids!  And, icing on the cake, our old house went under contract TWO DAYS AGO!  Such an answer to prayer!  It'll be awhile before we close on it, and a family that seems to be super sweet and will love it are moving into it!  New Beginnings await!

Soccer Season Finale

 This morning was C's last soccer game of the season.  His team definitely got better, but this game did not go in their favor!  He had fun and he had nice kids(and parents) on his team which made for enjoyable practices and games all around!  'Til next season!

Blue Ridge Parkway - Blowing Rock, NC

We made our annual drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway this afternoon.  We got on it near Linville and drove north to Blowing Rock.  Such a lovely drive!  We fell in love, too, with Blowing Rock, NC!  It was like a picturesque town out of a Hallmark movie!  We ordered lunch to go and while we waited, we explored the town and let the kids romp on the playground.  After we grabbed our lunch, we went to a nearby park and had a picnic - I mean, can you get anymore Hallmark-like?!?!  Then we went to The Blowing Rock and looked around before getting back on the road to head home.  But, we made one more stop at Silvervale Falls to finish out our trip!  I love these trips we take each year!
