Happy Valentine's Day

Because S has been sick, we had to alter our Valentine plans a bit. Last night, the night before VDay, we went to the church for a movie and dinner and watched Fireproof. I had never seen it and it was great!! We had a wonderful time and treated this as our Valentine's date night:)

Today, we alternated taking turns going to the gym since one of us had to be here w/ S and then I showed a few houses this afternoon and went to the grocery. Is it sounding super-romatic yet?!?! We were suppose to go over to M's cousin's house for dinner and a playdate w/ the kiddos, but obviously that did not happen. Instead, we had dinner here as usual and plan to kick back and take it easy now that S is in bed (I should get off the computer before time gets away from me too much!).

These are pics of S with her Valentine gift from me and M! This is actually her Valentine's dress, but we never got around to putting on her cute tights with it so she just has sweatpants on underneath it - Oh well! What can you do?!?!

She LOVES her dog!!!

Little Moments of Pure Cuteness

The last couple of days, S has had us in stitches!!! M hasn't been lucky enough to witness them first hand, but he gets a kick out of them when I tell him about them.
  • During Sunday School on Sunday, our friend was helping out in S's class. Since she is determined that S will be a gymnast/dancer/cheerleader and I have no ability in these areas whatsoever, she is going to be S's "girly" influence:) So, on Sunday, she started teaching S a cheer - say GO TIGERS while putting her hand in the air. I knew she had started working on it, but I kinda forgot about it by the time Monday rolled around. Well, S had NOT forgotten. I went into her room to get her up on Monday morning and she pumped that little fist in the air and yelled "GO!". It was so cute!!!
  • On Monday afternoon, S visited with her grandmamma for a couple of hours. She has really gotten into coloring lately so she was indulged. At some point, S found a small piece of crayon that had broken off and showed it to Grandmamma. She instructed S to take it into the bathroom and throw it in the trash. In she goes, and Grandmamma heres the 'plunk' as it goes into the toilet. No harm done, so she goes in and shows S what happens when you flush the toilet (S has never really taken notice of this before). S claps her hands together in pure delight! A few minutes later back out in the kitchen, Grandmamma catches S lugging the whole bag of crayons towards the bathroom for more bliss!!!!! Apparently just one little piece was not enough:)
  • This afternoon while I was driving, I was putting my hand on my head and saying "head" and then on my shoulder saying "shoulder" in an attempt to multi-task and teach S a bit and drive at the same time. I really wasn't watching what she was doing b/c obviously I was a bit more concerned about where I was going. All I knew was that she kept saying "head" (we haven't mastered "shoulder" yet) so I figured she was copying what I was doing. When I got to a stop sign, I turned around to see her and she had her socks and shoes off (she de-robes herself everytime we get into the car) and has her foot propped up by the side of her face scratching her head w/ her big toe saying "head"!! Oh, to be that flexible!

The last few days, we have spent some much needed family time together. On Thursday afternoon, Gigi came to visit so that M and I could go out to a MOPS Valentine's dinner and on Friday she watched S while I went crazy at a huge consignment sale (S should have no shortage of clothes this summer!!). When I got home, and after S's nap, Gigi and I took S to a local park and had a blast! It is always fun to get outside and play!

Gigi and S at the park.
She decided sitting on the swing like this was better than the traditional way.

On Saturday afternoon, M and I took S downtown. Apparently a lot of other people had the same great idea as us! S loved getting to walk around and meet everyone. After playing, we headed up to Wild Wing Cafe for dinner (S threw a mini-tantrum when we had to leave the park and put her in the stroller - this girl enjoys her freedom and independence). We had a wonderful dinner and since everyone was still happy, we ventured to my favorite ice cream place for dessert! Ahhh... bliss:)

S meeting another little girl at the park and getting a hug in return. Too sweet!

Family photo:)
S managed to get herself incredibly dirty. Daddy tried to keep her clean, but gave up after awhile

Loving the stairs - until she busted and got a little scraped up:(

Dinner at Wild Wing. S liked coloring and was really pretty good at it - I had no idea!

YUMMY!! Spill the Beans:)
On Sunday, after church and a nap, I went grocery shopping while M took S over to his parents' house and played outside in the 70* weather!!! I think I got the short end of that deal!

S with Grandmamma and Granddaddy. Running around and having a great time!

What a great weekend with our family and the grandparents!!!

Never to Early to...

get S ready for some Tiger tailgating fun!
Notice she has her sippy cup in a koozie(sp?):)

Cuz!

My cousin was so nice to stop by on her way to Atlanta a couple of weeks ago! S was excited to see her and so was I. She could only stay for about an hour before she had to get on the road, but a little time is better than no time!

Dinner w/ Friends

Last weekend we went over to our friends' house for dinner! They cooked us yummy food and we got a chance to visit w/them and their sweet little girl! D and S are almost exactly one year apart in age (only a 3 day difference!) It is amazing to see how much they grow in just one year! However, I know that as they get older, the age difference won't really be that big of a deal and they will be great friends!
Nothing like seeing a daddy w/ his little girl.

CHEESE!!!
