Apple Festival

While M went to a tractor show this afternoon, S and I opted to go to the Apple Festival, which we thought would be a bit more fun for us. There were SO MANY people there - most of them a bit on the "red" side so we were able to do plenty of people watching and were thoroughly entertained by it. I didn't think to go to the ATM before I got there so I only had $7. I used $5 to pay to park b/c I wasn't really in the mood to take the time to look for a parking spot. The other $2 I used to buy me an apple cider slushie - very good choice! If I'd had more $$$, I probably would have eaten my way through the festival. There were apple pies, apple cobbler, apple ice cream, caramel apples, fried apples.... well, you get the picture. S loved the balloons that were everywhere and all the big kids. But, her favorite, by far, was the Elvis impersonator that was singing. She was really dancing! Had her little arms up in the air just shaking it like a baby shakes it:) I was in hysterics and so was Elvis and everyone else who was around! She was just too stinkin' cute! What a fun outing!

4 Years!!!

It's hard to believe that M and I have been married for 4 years! So much has happened and wow how things changed since then. We have had great times together and every day is better than the day before. I can't wait for many, many more years of being married to my wonderful husband!

My New Ride

S hasn't quite figured out how to make it move yet, but she likes to sit on it and play with the spinning thing on the front!

Family Reunion

On Saturday, we started the 3 1/2 hour drive to my dad's family's reunion. This was the first time that I had ever been and I am so glad I was able to make it. You should have seen how much STUFF we brought for S. The reunion had never been held at this particular place, so we didn't know what to expect. We were driving there, mingling and eating, and then heading back. We knew it was going to be a VERY LONG day and but didn't know how S was going to handle things!
I kept S up all morning so that she would hopefully sleep most of the way there and be a happy little girl (I'm sure you all know that with kids things don't always go as "planned"). We left right on time, about 11:30am, grabbed CFA for me and M and got on the road. S went to sleep pretty quickly, but was awake about an hour into the drive and didn't go back to sleep. OH NO!!! That means she was going to be around all of this activity where she couldn't really crawl around and play on only 1 hour nap! I was very worried!!
We arrived about 3:15(after making only one stop) and the place was great! There were several ponds and the weather wasn't too hot. We all had chairs that we brought and set up around the fire pit (although didn't use the fire pit), and we also set up S's corral with her toys and blanket. That worked for a bit, but not long enough:) We met a lot of people I had never met before and also my dad and aunt and uncle were there! Dinner was AMAZING!!! We had all brought covered dishes and these people could really cook! We ate way too much - but enjoyed it! S did really well, which completely surprised me! I was so thankful:)
Around 7pm, we got back on the road to head home. Now, this time, we weren't even off the farm before S was asleep and slept the entire way home! Now, being a mother, I always worry about what S is going to do in situations that are out of her schedule. We made good time getting home and pulled into the driveway around 10pm. We get S out of the car, change her, give her a bottle and put her to bed. She looked so pitiful! She was so sleepy! She talked a bit after we put her in her crib, but then didn't hear a thing out of her until about 6:30am Sunday morning!!!!!!!!!!!!! She did it! This is a very normal wake time for her. When we got up on Sunday and realized that she'd slept all night, we were so thrilled!
We all took good naps Sunday afternoon after church (again, S missed her morning nap) and are hopefully back on a normal schedule now! We had a wonderful time at the reunion, the weekend went a lot smoother than I thought, and I am now looking forward to the next reunion in two years!:)

Aunt Brooke

My MIL sent me a CD of pictures she had taken while S was visiting over at her house. This is a picture of S and her Aunt Brooke that I just thought was too cute!! It is so nice to have them close by so that S will really be able to know her grandparents and aunt:)

Morning Time Fun

S is usually so happy in the mornings when she wakes up (after her bottle, of course!). Here she is the last few mornings (except when she woke up sick). She is thoroughly enjoying herself and her freedom of crawling in these pics:)

Atlanta and Beyond

This past week, S and I went to Atlanta to visit my family and some friends. My brother, Uncle Bobby, came over and was able to see her for the first time in a LONG time (it's probably been 6 months).

We went over to my cousin's house and S finally met her cousin Jack. He was so sweet and showed her how to use and play with all his toys. They were cute playing together!

Then, we headed to the pool in my parents' neighborhood for an evening of swimming. Cousin Jack was able to come for a while and so was a friend from high school and her little boy. It's been about a hear and a half since I've seen her. I was glad to get to visit with her before she has her next little boy in about 4 weeks.

When we returned home, we went to S's cousin, Will's, 1st birthday party. Isn't he a cutie?!?!:)

We also had a wedding shower to go to. S came with us and had fun playing with another little girl there who was only a month younger than her! She's really into showing you someone's eyes, nose and mouth so we had to be careful that she didn't poke one of the other little girl's eyes out!

We had a great past few days, but I will be honest, I'm ready for a little R&R!!!

I Love You, You Love Me

S doesn't watch TV too much. It's something that M and I decided when she was born. But, I usually do have it on during the day just for background noise so the house is not always so quiet!! However, I caught her completely drawn to Barney! It was really cute!

S doesn't really even pay attention to it b/c she has better things to do - like crawling all over the place and having me chase her around, and peek-a-boo around corners, and playing with the "other baby" in the reflection of the dish washer and flinging storage dishes across the floor, and emptying her toy basket onto the floor, and looking out the window. She LOVES having the freedom to move around!!
