Fireside Stories

Our library system is so wonderful!! There is always something going on for the kids (and adults for that matter)! Tonight they held an outdoor campfire story time. It was in the 90s so there was no fire, but plenty of mosquitoes:) We all went as a family and had fun although the conditions were less than favorable and the stories over the kids' heads!

The Rest of Our Trip to Atlanta

The rest of our trip to Atlanta revolved around the kids getting doted on all day! It was nice to have my parents love on them and give me some time to kick up my feet:) Mom and I went thrift store shopping and found a steal of a deal on a bike for S. We took it home, Dad and S lubed it up, and off she went! She is actually better at riding a real bike than she is her tricycle! I guess it is time to get one for her to keep at our house.

I also decided to drop C's morning bottle so that he is now down to only one bottle a day. We're getting there! He started taking more steps while there as well. I attribute this to having more carpet to walk on at my parents' house than we do at our house! He was consistantly taking 3-4 steps at a time. Won't be long now until he's off!

Fishy Fishy

We spent a lot of time at the pool while visiting my parents. On the first day we were there I took S by herself to the pool and she was able to go in without her floaties on since I didn't have to worry about C. And, wouldn't you know it, she learned to SWIM and DIVE! OH MY! It was so neat to see it finally click with her and she just did it! I still have to be in there with her for sure but she is on her way to being a fish:) HA!

On Sunday afternoon we had a mini cousin reunion at my aunt's pool! Oh what fun these kiddos had!! We missed their cousin Dylan but the rest were able to be there. Pretty cool for an impromptu "reunion"!

Blueberry Pickin'

Since the weather was cooler for all of two days, we took full advantage and went blueberry picking! I have never taken the kids before and honestly I didn't even know there was a place to go until this week! It was perfect! We were the only ones there and S and C ate blueberries until they were practically blue -no, really, I saw blue poop the next day:) I picked to fill up the container while they ate and with just one person picking those itty bitty little blueberries, it takes quite a while to fill those containers up! We spent an hour out in the orchard and didn't put a dent in our gallon. But, it didn't matter, we had fun:)

Summer Dance Camp 2011

This week S has had her first experience with ballet! And oh what an experience it was!!:) She absolutely LOVED every minute of her dance class. Her teacher was amazing with the girls and had S entranced and paying attention and following instructions like I've never seen before! Every day all she would talk about was ballet this and ballet that and couldn't wait until the next day when she could go again. Today was the last day of camp and the parents were invited to come in to the studio and watch the girls perform the routine they had learned! I enjoyed it so so so much!! Even M was able to come watch his little ballerina:) She is already looking forward to her dance class that she will be taking starting in the fall. I am so glad she loves it so much and that she can take classes!!

Princess Mania

I love Chick-fil-A!! They have great food, great service and an activity of some sort several times a week! We've never actually done more than eat there, but I saw that Snow White(S's favorite princess) and Cinderella were making an appearance so we loaded up after dinner and headed that way. This was kinda extra special because of friend of ours is the owner of the company who brings the princesses for appearances! I'm sure that CFA intended for us to eat there if we were coming to see the princesses, but oh well, they get enough of our money on our many other visits! S only stood with the princesses long enough to get her picture taken and then sat at the craft table and worked on her magic want for a good 30 minutes! She would have been happy to sit there all night, but C-man wasn't quite as impressed with everything as she was and he was getting kinda antsy! What a great, free, fun evening activity for us! We'll do it again for sure:)

Walnut Grove Plantation

Last night we let the kids stay up way too late... but it was worth it!!

We went to Walnut Grove Plantation for a campfire:) So fun! Even though it poured rain, I mean like monsoon-type rain, they moved the activities to an awesome covered picnic area with an outdoor chimney and we roasted marshmallows there. We were also able to hear a bit about the planting and gardening "back in the day" which was really quite interesting since we have a garden of our own! Also, before the rain came, we toured the grounds and enjoyed the coolness that was ahead of the storm.

What a fun experience for all of us!
