July Pictures

First time wearing a mask - thought he may have
fractured his foot - he did not!

C's homemade firework
Awesome socks Gigi brought him

Love some Dillard's - we even had a treat of running into the
Weavers while we were there!

Skateboard Dude

Made our way to the pool just to hang out!

I don't want to wear a mask and many stores
are requiring them - so I've signed up for Shipt
again to have Target and Publix deliver for
the time being!

Work has been CRAZY and I've had to bring
stuff home.  C's a good helper stamping and
stuffing envelopes!

I almost drank this little green inch worm on my
cup!

C scored big with the babysitter!

Morning at the Bakers' pool
Ended swim season with swimmers ear!  Poor boy!

I had to get my oil changed before heading to the beach so instead
of sitting at the dealership for 1.5 hours, M picked us up and we
hung out on the job site!

Morning games!

After receiving the paper plate awards at swim team,
S decided to make some of her own... LOL!

Swim Team Awards

This year has definitely been different and offered some challenges that we never expected.  BUT... the kids overcame and excelled and had so much fun this season!  This week was awards week!  Yesterday they received their paper plate awards from the coaches and today they received their Iron Man pins(meaning they successfully swam each event and swam them faster than a certain set time)!  So proud of them!!

This is a pretty awesome award to receive!  We don't expect
our kids to win, but we do expect them to give there all!  This
kiddo has come a LONG way in that aspect!

Her and one of her team besties received the same award;)

C&C Surprise!!

WELL!!!  I got a call this evening from one of the swim coaches and was told that the times from the meet this weekend were treated as Divisionals times and that SAIL did include our kids in the roster for those that would have qualified for Championships and Classics had the meet actually taken place!  We were all SHOCKED!!!  The kids were not in their best events, there was zero stress associated with getting good times, the Girls 11-12 relays were not accurate because they were based on last yaer's times and the list goes on and on but you know what, the kids did GREAT, had so much FUN and surprised us all by excelling in events that I wouldn't have thought that they would!  Such an exciting treat!!

C qualified:
Classics - both relays, breastroke
Championships - long free, butterfly

S qualified:
Championships - both relays, short free, butterfly

Just goes to show you that you can think you know their strengths so well, but given the opportunity, they can prevail in other areas!

Battle of the Creek

We actually had a REAL swim meet against Sugar Creek - with restrictions, of course!!

Last night C had his meet with 10+Under.  He had a blast and has made such good friends this year!  I'm so thankful for that!  He swam medley relay(backstroke), breaststroke, long free, butterfly and free relay!  Apparently the other team was swimming this meet as if it were divisionals and they were in their best events, where as we are not a part of SAIL this year and were using this meet to just get times in SwimTopia for next year's seeding.  So C wasn't swimming necessarily his best events, but he rocked the ones that he did swim!  PRs in each event!  His medley relay placed first and his free relay placed 2nd!

Breaststroke: 23.88
Long Free: 41.11
Butterfly: 21.37

I was timing and unfortunately didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked of C's meet!

S had her meet this morning with 11+Up!  What a great meet for her too!!!  Again, same set up as with C's meet with just trying to get times and not swimming her best events but she had PRs in all events too!  She swam medley relay(backstroke), short free, breaststroke, butterfly and free relay! Both of her relays got 2nd!  She loves the girls on her team and would hang out all day and not even swim and be perfectly happy with her friends!

Short Free: 36.02
Breaststroke: 50.70
Butterfly: 44.28

Luckily I wasn't timing today so I got some good pictures of S!

Lake Day with Cousins

We spent the day at the lake today!

C wakeboarded for about 40 minutes straight without stopping and only stopped because we made him because it was getting quite crowded!

We went by the Mays' dock because they were doing some work up there today and picked up Davis to hang out with us the rest of the day!

When we got back to our dock, Lara and Elliott and there kids were waiting for us!  The kids had a crazy time playing in the water, catching minnows and watching Elliott try to do the paddleboard.. LOL!!  Our boat was having some issues starting, so we were able to get out on the lake for a ride, but we didn't dare stop because we weren't sure we'd be able to get the boat started again!

It was a long day with many unexpecteds, but lake life is great and we were just glad to be enjoying it!

Got Davis

Lara and Larsen

Larsen did great on the paddleboard!

C and Daven - two peas in a pod!

Davis and S wore themselves out! LOL!

Swim Meet #4 - VIRTUAL

Well, we finally had a meet that was more than just time trials!  The whole team was there and we took official times so that the kids could have times in SwimTopia for seeding for next year!  Whoop!!  I hate that it took us so long to do it because now they get whatever time they get and don't get a chance to improve upon it!  Oh well!  Trying to stay positive, at least we did one!

I timed(for three hours in the hot heat with a mask on!  UGH!!) and the kids were pretty much on their own to figure it out!  They did great, but there were definitely a few "first meet hiccups" along the way!  And, our team is split into blue and white to try and have them somewhat even for relays, so the relays were not based on fastest times, which of course my competitive self was not loving, but it did make for some real nail-biter races!!

C swam:
Short Free - 17.70
IM - 1:52.73  (PR for him)
Backstroke - 24.77
(he also swam both relays, freestyle for both)

S swam:
Short Free - she false started and got DQ but I think she would have had a PR if she hadn't done that(I told her it was pretty special to be able to get a DQ in short free, LOL!!)
Long Free - 1:26.36(PR for her)
Backstroke - 49.06
(she also swam both relays, freestyle for both - she had a LOT of freestyle today!)

We are doing another meet, with Sugar Creek(both teams together!), next week so they will get a chance to get some more times in SwimTopia, for the other three events that they didn't swim this week!

It was a fun morning and I'm glad they get a more normal meet, even if it is still far from really normal!

Team Cheer - 11&up in the pool, 8&under on one side, 9-10 on the
other side - gotta love social distancing!
