I love a clean car, but don't love having to get it cleaned!

Nerf wars!

C broke his finger playing football:(  He had to sit out of
most activities for about two weeks!  It is still healing!!

Lots of swim right now!

C and I planted bulbs in the fall and they actually came up
and are beautiful!

Date night to Top Golf!

First trip to Penguinos for summer!
I let the kids play hookie from school one day and we watched two movies
from Red Box - very lazy and very much needed!

C's Awards Day

C had his awards day this morning!  His teacher has been 150% amazing and we are so so so thankful to have had her this year!  She read a story to the parents, and kids, that she has read to the kids all year about not worrying about what others think of you, but focusing on the fact that God made each of us with our own talents and that he doesn't make mistakes!  I might have had tears in my eyes!  She had also put together a 90 picture slide show and had organized for parents to bring in breakfast so that we could all hang out and enjoy the morning for a while!  I wish we could bottle her up and take her with us for 4th and 5th grade too:) This has been a wonderful year for C and he has grown in so many ways!

Swim Meet #1

The kids had their first swim meet with our new swim team last night!!  It was so much fun!  The kids both did great!

S swam short free, breaststroke and backstroke.  She was also on a relay which we were kind of surprised about because being that we've never swam on this team, the kids didn't have any times going into the meet so we assumed that they would have to wait until after the first meet to get on a relay!  She has moved up to the 11/12 age group so now all of her events are double the length and she has some new flip turns to use.  She did all of it very well and we were all super surprised that her backstroke flip turn(at least this exact one that she did) was almost perfect!  Her 50 free(which use to be long free, and is now short free) time improved from last's year's best of 46.58s to 41.93s!  All of the other strokes you can't really compare to last year since they are now 50m instead of 25m! Hoping she is in both relays next week!

C swam short free, breaststoke and backstroke and rocked them all!

His times were:
Short free 20.53s (last year his best was 22.62s)
Backstroke 27.56s (last year his best was 32.7s)
Breaststroke 28.34s (last year his best time was 31.03s)

He should also be in relays next week!

All in all, a great meet!  Unfortunately, I was really bad about getting pictures so I gotta work on that!  We are ready for a summer of swimming!  Go Waves!!

Lined up for short free - I think this was the only event that
he wore his cap:)

S lined up for short free - and quite possibly annoyed that I was
taking her picture...LOL!

His least favorite stroke!

She's learned to embrace backstroke and it may be her
favorite now:)

Baseball Banquet

Even though C has been done with baseball for a few weeks now, everyone's busy May schedule pushed the banquet back to this evening!  One of the families on the team opened up their home to us and graciously hosted such a sweet, wonderful banquet for all the families to come and enjoy time together!  It was a crazy, fun night of swimming, game playing, eating and trophy-receiving!

Big Air Field Trip

C's class had a field trip to Big Air followed by lunch at Fuddrucker's today!  I was not able to go, but I had some friends and a wonderful teacher there that were sending me pictures of all the fun!

Dance Recital Weekend

Last night was S's recital dress rehearsal.  I enjoy going to this because it is super laid back and I am able to take pictures and video:)  Afterwards, the Scottish Parade was just about to start, so the kids and I found a place to dine al fresco and watched the parade!  We all had fun!

S in the front!

S on front left!

C grabbed the chips from our dining table and got himself
a front row seat!

Ms. South Carolina was in the parade and she was also a
dancer at S's studio and came by dress rehearsal before the
parade!
Today was S's recital!  We met Grandpa and Gigi for an early lunch before the the performance.  S did a fantastic job and it is just amazing how much she has improved and how talented she is!  This will be her last recital that she is not en pointe!  All of her grandparents were able to come see her, but we missed pictures with Grandmamma and Granddaddy!

Then after the performance it was time for ice cream before saying goodbye to Grandpa and Gigi!

We checked out the Saturday Market on our way from lunch
to the Peace Center;)

And the kids scored honey sticks!

Some of the girls in S's dance class!

Gigi and Grandpa came bearing patriotic flowers
and glasses!

It's been a long, hot couple of days:)
We have one very loved dancer!

S's Play at School

S and her friends have done several plays during recess throughout the year and have performed them for their classes.  This last one, though, she wanted to make a bit more special so the moms sent in pizza(I actually brought them and then was able to watch the play too!), brownies and juice boxes and the teachers and classmates helped to make it a great time!  They performed a play based on the book The Day the Crayons Quit and they did such a wonderful job!  I was so thankful that I was invited and able to watch!

5th Grade Graduation Day

S's 5th Grade Graduation was today!  It is pretty hard to believe that she is essentially done with elementary school!  She is beyond ready for middle school, though, so that makes it an exciting time!

This morning the fifth graders walked the halls and all of the other grades, and fifth grade parents, lined the halls and clapped as they walked by!  It took all of three minutes, so we were glad to be there on time - especially, M!

Afterwards, we headed to North Greenville University for the ceremony!  I was so proud of sweet S and even though she didn't smile while she was up there, she was excited and loved her day so much!

We went to lunch at Cheesecake Factory and then Grill Marks for a serious dessert!

It was a great day and we tried to make her feel extra special:)

S is 4th from the right

That trophy is for having ALL A's for her entire
time in elementary school!  I had no idea!!  Pretty
impressive!
