Sky Top

I picked the kids up from school this afternoon and surprised them with a trip to Sky Top!  First thing on their agenda - DONUTS!!  First thing on my agenda - bathroom!  I won:)  And, I was totally loving the fact that they built a real bathroom with a sink and soap rather than the porta potties!  So wonderful!

After they had devoured their donuts they got some energy out in the playground area!  They had a ball!  We then went to pick apples, but unbeknownst to me, they had experienced severe hail damage to the apple crop and the pickings were so slim!  It is still really early in the season and we had to go to the very back of the orchard, down a huge hill, and could still hardly fill up a basket - and the apples that we did pick were nicked from the hail!  It was kinda disappointing harvest for us, but the kids rallied when we got back to the top of the orchard and they had another chance to play on the playground!

We had fun, but I'm not sure if I knew what I know now, that I'd make the trip up there!  Maybe next year will be a better year for them!

I was loving the bathroom so much that I insisted on taking a picture of it!

DONUTS!!!  It was 7* cooler at the orchard, 70*, than it
was when I picked them up from school!  Light coats were
even needed:)

I didn't notice him cheating on his toes til I just
went through my camera pictures!  LOL!

You can see the bruising and nicks in the poor apples!
And these were the best we could find!

The apples still tasted delicious!

Marriage Conference

Our church hosted a marriage conference last night and this morning and it was really well done!  The speaker, Tim Kimmel, was entertaining and had a lot to offer, there was free food and childcare and a lot of our friends were there!  It was a good time for everyone and we learned some things along the way too!

These were the centerpieces and the couple with the closest
anniversary coming up got to take them home.  Ours is Monday!
We got it!:)

Soccer Starts

Soccer started back up tonight for C!  He is on the older side of the age group now(6-7 year olds) so hopefully he will step up, play hard and be a good leader and team player on the team!  I can't wait to be on the sidelines again;)

Wrapping Up Summer

I always have mixed emotions this time of year!  I'm glad to have a routine and a little more "me time", but I also miss having the kids around and doing fun stuff with them!  We packed in as much as we could the past two or three weeks before school starts tomorrow!!

Not only did we have this lovely thing blowing in our house,
we are also without a fridge inside for a couple of weeks!

There are no words!

We got rid of cable!!!

Cashed in on their pizzas for their reading rewards!
The church offered a FREE date night, so we went out for
dinner downtown!:)

Spidey joining us for breakfast!

I think they were trying to catch birds?
We met Melissa and her boys for lunch one day and then
introduced them to rock hunting in Downtown Greenville
afterwards!

PTA packet stuffing... gotta love it!  Only 925!?!?!  At least
I got to watch cheesy chick flicks while I worked!

Enjoying the last few lazy mornings of summer!

M got C a BB gun!!!  Oh goodness!
While the kids were at camp, I was able to go for a walk in the park
and even found a pretty neat rock too!
S worked a couple of days on this gift for her new fourth
grade teacher!  She LOVES making homemade gifts:)
Finally got a chance to start painting rocks!

The only picture from Meet the Teacher Night
came to me from a friend after finding this on her phone
the next day!  I've also been instructed there will be
no more walking them into school on the first day:(

We spent LOTS of time at the pool the last week of summer!
This is called "the pretzel"!

And, "the pencil"!

Always a good time going to the car dealership to get the
oil changed!
Morning coffee:)

A little back to school shopping - the insisted on both carrying
a handle to the car!:)

"Fairy Garden":)
Fishing adventures:)
This has been lovely!  Ugh!!

More rock painting!

M and C were family of the week at karate:)

There was this little thing called the solar eclipse that happened - it was a pretty
big deal;)
