My Birthday Weekend - Hiking at Dupont and Helen, GA

I usually don't have much of a request for my birthday, but this year I claimed the whole weekend;)  On Saturday, we went hiking at Dupont State Park.  We hiked about 3.5 miles, saw 3 waterfalls and the covered bridge.  It was a beautiful day for hiking!

S has always had a bit of an infatuation with birds!

Hooker Falls

Triple Falls

Surprisingly, this kiddo is not a very enthusiastic hiker!  Any
terrain with an incline at all makes for a very slow go with the
little guy!  For some reason, though, him dragging this limb
made him move along a little quicker?

High Falls
Today, we went to Helen, GA to experience Oktoberfest.  I wish I could say it was amazing and that everyone should go check it out.  But, unless you are looking for a corny tourist trap, I cannot make that recommendation!  We ate lunch at a pub that overlooked the river, walked around downtown and then went to the Festhalle and let the kids play cornhole before heading home.  T

The best part of the trip was our stop on the way home in Sautee at a cute little market and cafe.  It was super cute and delicious and a good way to cap of a somewhat disappointing excursion!

The store I most wanted to go into was the Christmas store, and
for some unknown reason it was closed today.  Of course!!

September 2018, In the Books!

C has been getting a couple of baseball instructional
lessons to try and catch him up with the other players
on his team - and to kill time while S is at dance;)
Greer Farmers' Market - It was suppose to be a Peach
themed day, but there was not a single peach or anything made
with peach to be found...lol!

It's been a warm month - bathing suits and water balloons!

I tried to get Hamilton tickets, but was number 21,359
in the lottery - needless to say, it didn't work out for me!

Watching some Clemson football!

I had a spot on my knee removed - and then had a reaction
to the adhesive, but I'll spare you pictures of that - it was
NOT pretty!!

Our schedule has been a bit on the crazy side - I enlisted S
to help with C's spelling words;)

Core work with planks!

Like I said, we have a crazy schedule and dance and baseball
keep ending up on the same nights!  When S gets dropped off
by her dance carpool, she's been staying by herself while
we are at C's game for about 45 minutes!

Sometimes you just need a milkshake - especially when your
mom is dragging you to get the oil changed!

C's been on a Hot Wheels kick recently!

C's class:)

C's teacher took a picture of these two best buddies who,
unplanned, wore the same shirt to school!  Cuties!

This is the box that Amazon sent vitamins in - a bit large
in my opinion!!

M pressure washed the front porch and left the mat on the
grass for the afternoon.  The neighbor's cat made herself right
at home!

Polichenelle costume fitting - S is in olive green!

She takes forever to fold her laundry - especially while watching
TV!

Much needed haircut - then straight to baseball!

And, again, milkshakes are just needed sometimes!

C going for the full camo look while hunting!

Weekend in Pigeon Forge with our Life Group

This weekend our Life Group class, 5 families total, got together at a cabin in Pigeon Forge for a weekend of fellowship, crazy kids, food and hiking!

We arrived Friday evening and headed straight to the Old Mill Restaurant where our Life Group leaders met us for dinner!  Afterwards, we made our way to the cabin and "settled" in to the crazy that would be the next 48 hours.

There was little sleeping Friday night and lots of coffee Saturday morning.  After a delicious breakfast prepared by Amy and Melissa, we went on a hike.  S and I had to leave early from the hike because she had Nutcracker rehearsal and a costume fitting.  We drove home and made it just in time!  Everyone else continued on the hike to the waterfall that was not to ever be found!  Lol!  They came back to the cabin for lunch. The girls headed for some afternoon shopping while the guys took in some football.  Dinner was at the cabin, compliments of Jeanie and Lindsey!  From what I heard there was a bit more sleeping Saturday night than Friday night.

Still, everyone was up early and packing and went to breakfast at Paula Deen's where, at least for my two, lots of food was eaten.  M and C hung around after breakfast with the Georges for some go-cart rides before coming home!
