Library Time

I've posted before that S and I go to the library quite often! It is fun, a change of scenery and FREE:) In the past, we've either gone to the story times that they offer or have gone to pick up some Elmo DVDs. Last week, though, my mom came for a visit and we decided to introduce her to another part of the library - the part that has BOOKS:) Wow, what a concept! Although she wasn't really into picking out books, she loved getting a chance to get on the computers they have set up for kids! I seriously think we could spent an hour in the library and not get bored!

Arts and Crafts

My very artistically talented friend hosted playgroup this week! She did an absolutely amazing job getting everything together! I would never had been able to come up with all the fun stuff that she did. She had chalk in individual little pails for each kid, we made homemade play-doh and the kids painted with finger paint. This was the first time S had ever seen/played with play-doh before. It took a little getting use to but we've already used it several times since we've been home. The finger paint quickly turned into body paint for S! Glad I had taken her shirt off:) And, even though S was not quite herself that day, we had a great time!!!

New Clothes

This past weekend was extremely wet and dreary. So, I decided it was a good time to get S's fall/winter clothes out. This process has taken me THREE DAYS!!! Saturday was spent washing and drying everything. Sunday I folded and ironed everything. Today, Monday, I finished the folding and ironing and hung it all in her closet - with no room to spare! - this doesn't include the clothes in her drawers:) I have left some of her spring/summer clothes in her closet for now as well since there are bound to be those days that are still warm! I love going through all her "new" clothes as the seasons change. I get tired of dressing her in the same clothes after months of wearing them! Bring on the fall weather, we are now ready!

P.S. - S's closet doubles as my "china cabinet"!!

Princesses

We had our playgroup this morning and it was all girls!!! And, wow, did these girls take advantage of it. OKW has a lot of fun dress-up dresses so all the girls put them on and paraded around like little princesses! These 5 little girls were absolutely adorable (we are missing one of the little princesses in these pics)!!!!

I LOVE little girls:)

Labor Day at Sky Top

Going to Sky Top has been a tradition of ours since before M and I were married. Last year was S's first trip there and although she like it she really didn't get too much out of it. BUT, this year she loved, loved, loved it!! It was so fun to watch her explore the apple orchard and also pet and feed the animals. It makes me look forward to going again!!!

23 Months

Today S is 23 months old! Only one more month until the big 2! Crazy!

We have had an interesting month of getting the two year molars - UGGG!! I thought that the other teeth were bad but these are by far the absolute WORST for us:( When S is teething she does not nap (and if she does it is short), she doesn't eat much, she's fussy and her bowels are totally whacked! The last couple of weeks have been pretty rough as she has gotten 3 of them in and I say just come on #4 so we will be done and put us out of our misery!!
Also, we have started charting S's growth. I know, a bit late, but better late than never. I can't believe how much she has grown in just one month. I think 3/4" in a month is huge! Take a look!!

Farm Days

M has been so excited about Farm Days for months! I think I've had it on the calendar since May and for M to be that organized and plan that far in advance says a lot:)

We went on Saturday and met M there. He left a bit earlier than us since he has two restored tractors he was showing while we were there. It was perfect weather and actually a lot of fun! It is set up on a farm along the river/creek and they've built these log cabin type buildings that stay up year-round but are used during Farm Days for concessions.

It was a lot more than I ever imagined and we all had a great time!

Eating ice cream with daddy. The ice cream is churned by a John Deere hit and miss engine so it was extra special!

Riding her first pony. Can you tell she LOVED it?!?!
First hay ride. Not so much into this one b/c she was confined to our laps and couldn't be her crazy self!
Checkin' out the saw mill with Granddaddy.
Riding a John Deere - I had to go with her!

Go Tigers!
S knows one color - PINK! She was naturally drawn to this tractor:)

Let's Go Fly a Kite

The fall weather this week has been perfect for flying kites! I think that I like it as much as S does:)

(Do you hear my dog, Abby, in the background?!?! So disgusting!)
