End of June

June's gone...what!?!??

We went to a library event that the kids were actually into
more than I thought they would be;)

Swim meet against Darcy's neighborhood! S killed it on her
freestyle this meet, taking 3 seconds off and she did butterfly
without getting disqualified:)  C did not have a very good meet
and ended up getting disqualified in backstroke(?!?!?) and
breastroke:(  Poor kid was so discouraged!

We had to go to the county courthouse because I made a statement
and was called as a witness regarding the "mean dogs" continue
to get out and roam the neighborhood!  These are like $15000 dogs
meant to kill!  Anyway, the kids were very educated this morning as
they witnessed a lady get arrested right in the room we were sitting in.
I tried to use it as a teaching moment and put some fear of doing the
wrong thing in them - not sure if it worked but I had no less than
1000 questions as we drove home!

We went to what I was led to believe as going to be a little
pool party!  Umm... they had no less than 20 girls(you know C
didn't do well when he realized that he was the only boy there
until thankfully another brother showed up!)!  Half of S's class was
there I think!!!

Sweet moment!  Gotta take them when I can get them:)

We attended an outdoor wedding, with no tents, in 97* weather
and all about melted!  It was beautiful - but the heat!!

Shopkins unite!!

M tried out the egg cooker we gave him for Father's Day!
It was great and easy and fast!

A friend and I attended a dinner and earring making night and
had the best time and the best food!  A much-needed girls night out!

We joined some friends at the Children's Museum!  C's favorite
part and I couldn't get him to leave to explore the rest of the
museum for quite a while!

While I was stuck at the construction site, S was able
to tour around and see other stuff with Liam and his mom!

C was playing with my phone while S was at piano lessons.  He
caught me making my grocery list - I have been so spoiled with both
kids being in school this past year and not having to take them to
the store with me because it is torture!!!

Last regular swim meet of the season!  C's best friend at the pool,
Henry, has been on Guppies this year but he is really good and was
able to come and swim at the meet with us!  C was beside himself
to have him there!!

Butterfly Adventures

This summer Roper Mountain Science Center is hosting a Butterfly Adventure!  This includes hundreds of butterflies all around and also the rest of the science center open as well!  They have expanded sooo much since the last time I was there!

Our neighbor from our old house works at RMSC and is butterfly extraordinaire, so of course we ran into her while we were there and she gave us special treatment:)  We also ran into a friend from S's dance class and a good family friend from school/swim team!

I think S's favorite part was the butterfly exhibit and C's favorite was the touch tank in the marine lab!  We also visited the farm where S was enamored by the baby sheep - that may have been another favorite of hers!  We ran into Ms. Dana that use to teach Fridays on the Farm which S participated in when she was in preschool.  She remembered us!!  I was so impressed!  It was so fun to see so many familiar faces there:)

The kids had an absolute ball and we even ended up joining as members again which we have not done in a few years!  Hopefully we will get a chance to go back again before Butterfly Adventures is over for the summer!  But, now that we are members again, it looks like the kids will be participating in camps here next summer!

The sound wall - soooo loud!!

The kids with Anne:)  We love her!

Marcy and S

Grace and S

C's favorite animal there!

S stayed next to these baby sheep the entire time while C
and I toured around the farm!  She just sat there with them!
LOL!!

Summertime Fun!

As many times as these kids change clothes throughout the day,
they are learning to do lots of laundry folding this summer!

We watched the Evette kids while their parents had a night out!
The boys went fishing, the girls painted nails:)

Watching C's favorite, Donald Duck:)
We've started our summer "school" work.

This girly LOVES a good book!

Making an absolute mess outside but loving every minute of it!

Tuckered out babies!

Some guy backed into my car at the pool after practice one
night and the kids and I had to wait around to get the police report
filed and everything!  Such a nuisance!  Thankfully nobody was hurt!

Swim meet #2... C doesn't look like he's having fun, but he is
really actually watching the swimmers int he lane in front of him!
He eats his weight in junk during the meets and loves it!

A rare moment of relaxing for this boy!

Neighborhood block party

The kids got Rubiks cubes and have enjoyed playing with them!
The A/C upstairs was out for several days, so we had quite a
few nights of the kids camping out downstairs!
Cooling off when the house is hot!  Pool time!
C has had a spark in his attention to Legos all of a sudden!
S is taking piano through the summer so C and I will surely
have many trips to the library to kill the time:)

My first garden harvest!  I had checked these 2 days before and
they were nowhere close to being ready!  We then got 1.4 inches
of rain and 3 of these were got too big!  They grow sooo fast!!!!

Mr. Independent!  I just happened to walk around the corner
and find him pouring this HUGE thing of OJ!  He did it, though!

This girly always has a book!  Even at breakfast!

I've been hearing about these cotton candy grapes all over
Facebook and when I saw them at Publix just had to get them!
They truly are AMAZING!!!!
The kids have swim practice with 10&under.  This day they wanted
to stay around for a while and watch the older kids who practice after
them!  They were so cute watching!
