C did great! He took about 1.5 seconds off both his freestyle and backstroke. He was also entered into the 50m freestyle(2 laps!?!?) and he did it! He didn't grab the lane line and he didn't touch the bottom! I was so proud of him! At the end of the meet they do the final freestyle relays. C has never done a relay and was not entered into one tonight either, but one of the kids that was suppose to swim on one of the relays had already left, so C was able to step in and swim the first leg of the relay! He didn't perform at his best, but I was just glad that he figured out how a relay worked(when they told him he was going to do a relay, he looked at me and asked "what's a relay?"... lol!!)! When he got out he said that he wanted to do a relay again sometime:)
S had a great meet as well! She didn't take any time off of her best of the year, but she swam hard! I was surprised that her freestyle wasn't faster because it sure looked faster! She has made some great new friends on the team and I am thankful that she is enjoying the season! She is close to being in the top 40 in the county in backstroke(she is 43 right now!) and the top 40 go to Championships/Classics so her goal is to work on her backstroke over the next two weeks to see if she can shave a second or two off(I know she's fast enough, but she can't tend to go straight and hits the lane line which slows her down!). I'm hoping she can pull it off!!

| S had to swim butterfly for the first time! She did GREAT the first half, but then got tired and lost her form and ultimately got DQ! Maybe next time! I'm just glad the coaches are making the kids branch out and learn another stroke:) |
