Swim Team Divisionals Week and Meet

Each day this week the team did fun things and had themed dress-up days!  All leading up to today's Divisionals Meet!

Pictures from the week:

Pirates and Mermaids Day -

Free Icee Treats for everyone -

Twin Day -

S and Riley

Will and C
Spirit Day -

Pasta Pump Up - One of the families on our team has a SUPER nice house!  They've hosted the end of year party in the past, but this year we combined the end of the year party and the Pasta Pump Up and did it all in one night(before Divisionals!) and it was so fun!!  The kids played for hours in the pool, the adults sat around and talked, and of course we ate lots of pasta!  After dinner the coaches gave out the year gifts - awesome team stainless steel water bottles and awards.  S walked away with a Swimmer of the Week Award and her Iron Man Award - meaning she successfully swam every event there was at least once in a meet!

C getting his medal and water bottle!

S getting her medal, water bottle and awards!

The kids were involved with these shenanigans!  They 'Post It Noted'
the coach's car - and were sooo proud of themselves!

Finally, the Divisionals Meet arrived!  We were up early this morning and heading out to Holly Tree where our divisionals were taking place.  It was HOT!!!  S swam IM, breaststroke and backstroke.  C swam freestyle, long freestyle and backstroke as well as was in the medley relay doing backstroke.  Both kids did really well and we are proud of how much they have put into practicing and racing this summer!  They've had fun, we've all made new friends and we will be looking forward to next year!

Ready to GO!  Check out M, he dressed like a stroke and turn
judge! Buhahaha!!  He wanted to feel official!  Seriously, he
did this on purpose!

The theme was Pirates and Mermaids - I think C's friend, Will,
brought these to share:)

Look at all those cutie boys dressed up!

We don't have any mermaid stuff, so S transformed her towel
into a mermaid tail!  So creative that one!

After a great meet, nothing celebrates as well as ice cream!!
It is always fun to see how much the kids have improved over a year and it never ceases to amaze me!

Stella:
25 Freestyle (last year's best 23.81; this year's best 22.08)
25 Backstroke (last year's best 28.65; this year's best 25.22)*PR at Divisionals!  She was less than 1 second from going to C&C!
25 Breaststroke (last year's best 32.88; this year's best 27.95)
25 Butterfly (last year's best 33.43; this year's best 27.10)
50 Freestyle (last year's best 1:01.72; this year's best 53.58)
100 IM (last year she couldn't handle this; this year's best 2:05.60)

Colton:
25 Freestyle (last year's best 36; this year's best 29.57)
25 Backstroke (last year's best 58; this year's best 38.81)
25 Breaststroke (last year he couldn't do this; this year's best 45.36)
50 Freestyle (last year's best 1:29; this year's best 1:09.81)*Best time of the year at Divisionals - he took 5 seconds off AND did a flip turn, what!?!?! I had no clue he knew how to do that!

**The divisional results from last year were never officially posted and I'm not sure why!  So, for C, I couldn't remember the exact times when I went to record them on last year's Divisionals blog post, but I could remember the first part!

Great season, Barracudas!!

Michael posing as an official is hilarious!! He better watch out. Might get reeled in! Stroke & turn isn't for the faint of heart 😩
