Roper Mountain Camps - Week 2

The kids were at their second week of camp at Roper Mountain Science Center this week!  They loved it, of course!!  C did Farm Animals and Garden Fun while S did Culinary Kids!

On Thursday, the parents were cordially invited to join S's class for a delicious, home-cooked meal!  It was all very impressive and she was so proud of herself!  When she brought home the invitation that they made, she promptly displayed it on our pin board in the mud room where all could see:)  It was amazing what her class was able to do in just a week.  The pimento cheese recipe was particularly wonderful and will be made again(They brought all the recipes from the week home with them!  Yay!).  Then, today, they took a field trip to Greenville Tech where they visited the culinary department and made soft pretzels!  C's class did not have an opportunity available to come and observe, but we know he had a good time!

Until next summer, RMSC!!
C came home after camp and brought a peach pit that just had
to be planted in the garden, immediately!!
Proudly bringing home another item to plant - flowers of some sort!
It was in pitiful shape, I hope it revives now that it is planted and
watered!
No words:)

Invitation for our lunch with S!

The spread!

Lunch consisted of sausage/cheese dip, salad w/ "sassy sauce"(S and
her group named it this, not sure what the real name was!), deviled eggs,
pimento cheese, rice pilaf, chicken cordon bleu and lemon filled crepes with
chocolate sauce!

The class at Greenville Tech - because we knew the teacher, I got extra pictures:)

S with Ms. Anne - our old neighbor whom we LOVE!!  She
was S's teacher for the week:)

This morning the weather was slightly cooler than it has been for the past several
weeks, so I took the opportunity to go for a run on the kids' last day of RMSC
camp!  It felt good, but it was still really hot!
