Carl Sandburg House

We have a few days before heading out of town, so the kids and I took an "adventure" to Carl Sandburg's House in Flat Rock, NC to check out all the baby goats!  We knew about two sets of twins thanks to Facebook, but were surprised when we arrived and there was a set of triplets born just 4 days before!!  And THREE more goats are due within the next month!  Lots and lots of baby goats!!  The kids thought it was so fun to pet and hold and love on them!  We must have stayed there an hour!  We came back down and took a hike around the lake.

I thought I had remembered there being picnic tables here, but apparently I was wrong.  I Googled picnic spots in Flat Rock and came up with a park with a playground so we gave it a shot.  What a great find!!!!!  The park is an old golf course and they've added a playground made up mostly of ropes - a kid's dream!  The kids played and we ate lunch.  

Afterwards, I surprised them with milkshakes from the Soda Fountain in downtown Hendersonville before we made our way back home - tired and happy!!
