Strawberry Hill USA

This evening we took our annual trip to Strawberry Hill USA for lots of delicious strawberries and then ate dinner at Lake Bowen Fish Camp as we do each year!

Even though we have plenty of fresh and local strawberries just up the street which we have thoroughly enjoyed this year(I think we've bought 10 gallons so far at the peach shed up the road!), we like to take a trip up to Chesnee, SC for strawberries and the fish camp!

The kids had a ball pulling the strawberries in the wagon(only dumping out 1 gallon - ugh!), playing on the tractor and swinging on the "tire horses"!

We bought FOUR gallons of strawberries so that I could freeze about three of them to hopefully have yummy strawberries all year!  I'll probably have to get a few more gallons before strawberry season is over because as many gallons as we've gone through in only a month, we are going to need quite a bit to last us all year:)

After we'd finished at Strawberry Hill, we went to Lake Bowen Fish Camp for dinner!  S said she remembered it because it is the place with her favorite shrimp, the small ones with the brown stuff - she means the calabash popcorn shrimp!

14 gallons and still going strong?! Impressive!! I want to hear more about freezing berries - they aren't mushy when thawed? Pls share!
