Book Week - All About Seasons

We had what seems to have become our bi-annual book week this past week!

The kids, as always, loved it and I can tell that C's attention span is really maturing!  He is now actually listening to the whole story(even though I try to choose ones that are not too terribly long!) and participates in the craft as well!

This time around we focused on seasons.  I chose this because just last week we decided to put C in K4 instead of holding him back in K3(we may still hold him back ultimately for kindergarten, but are not doing so at this time!) because he really has come a long way academically(well, as much as 3-year-old can be called "academic" - haha!) and he tends to act better around older kids than younger kids.  Anyway... all that to say that there are a few things that most of the other kids learned at his school in K3 that he did not get to learn in the Parents Day Out program.  Seasons is one of those things!

Both of them had fun with it and of course Little Miss had fun trying to "teach" her brother!!!

Here's what we did:

Monday - Overview of All Seasons
Frog and Toad All Year by Arnold Lobel

Tuesday - Spring
and then it's spring by Julie Fogliano

Wednesday - Fall
Fall Leaf Project by Margaret McNamara (S loves the Robin Hill School series!)
I know It's Autumn by Eileen Spinelli

Thursday-Saturday(during this time S got strep throat so it took a few days!) - Winter
The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats

Sunday - Summer
Summertime in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Mama, Is It Summer Yet? by Nikki McClure
