Tis the Season

This weekend we got into the Christmas spirit a little bit! I bought reindeer antlers for all of us to wear as we baked cookies, put up the tree and decorated outside with lights.

S and I baked cookies and took them to our neighbors. S sang them "We Wish You a Merry Chirstmas" as they opened the door! Oh how I wish I had this on video!! She was too cute:)

S really wanted to put lights up outside. The past week or so when we've been riding along in the car, she points out all the houses that have lights and wreaths and huge snowman inflatables in their yards and says "ahh.. they're getting ready for Christmas." This is something M and I have never done since we've been married, but thought that since she was wanting to do it and we had a ton of extra lights, why not? S did the entire job by herself. I helped her carry the lights outside and stretch them out a bit, but she threw them all up on the bushes herself and was quite pleased with the outcome:)

We also went and chopped down Charlie Brown. Yes, we named our tree and the name totally suites. Ask S what her tree's name is and she'll tell you:) Because red cedars' limbs are not very sturdy, very few of our "real" ornaments will stay on them. So, taking an idea from our friends, we are going to start doing a theme of a different country each year. I chose Sweden for this year's theme (I'll give more details on that later). I printed out paper ornaments of what the Swedes would decorate their trees with, we colored them, cut them out and those are now the only ornaments on our tree.

Oh, how redneck we look between our lights outside and Charlie Brown!!

Laughed out loud at the pic of M and S locking horns! S did a great job with the lights, looks like snow on top of the bushes.

Have fun with Sweden. Is that the country where the girl wears candles on her head?
