The Nutcracker

This past week has been all about The Nutcracker for us!  S was in the Nutcracker two years ago with her other studio, but this is our first go around with our new studio and it has been just as wonderful and exciting and organized as our old one!

S is a baby mouse this year and has been at rehearsal and shows every day/night for the past five days - not including every weekend since September!!  It has been grueling hours for all of us, but totally worth it!  Luckily, for me anyway, we have been in a carpool with 3 other girls that live out our way, so I have not had to be driving to and from downtown Greenville every night:)

One of my friends is the backstage mom for the baby mice and I've been stealing her pictures off of Facebook:)  Then, I was helping backstage on Saturday night and was able to snap some of my own as well!  I helped monitor the dining area(they have dinner catered Thursday - Saturday since the kids are there for such long hours and it is amazing food each night!!) and then after finishing that up, I went and helped with the baby mice make-up and costumes which was fun to be a part of, but if I'm being completely honest, I'm not sure I'd like to be back there every day:)

This afternoon was the last day of the show and we all went to be part of the audience and watched our baby mouse do her thing!  She did a great job and the entire cast looked very professional!

After the show, there was a cast party up the road at Clemson One building!  All the cast members dressed super-fancy and were able to gather and celebrate another season of The Nutcracker - done and awesome!  We joined S at the party, where the food was delicious and desserts abounded!  Santa was even there!!  It was a festive and enjoyable way to end the weekend!
