Last year we tried to go on the Polar Express in Travelers Rest, but the night that we were scheduled to go, the train broke and then they rescheduled us for another night and it rained! We were so disappointed so I was very excited today that the morning rain cleared for what was bound to be a fun night on the Polar Express!!
We had dinner at the Whistle Stop Cafe, from where the train departed, and then went outside to board the train. You can imagine our disappointment when we were told that not 30 minutes earlier the train had yet again broken!! You have got to be kidding me?!!?!? The kids were very bummed! To help ease the disappointment, we went up to the rooftop where hot chocolate and cookies were being served and Santa was there with a happy "ho-ho-ho"! It helped some, but I think a ride would have been better!
We still had a fun evening out, even with the change of plans! But, thank goodness for hot chocolate and cookies is all I have to say!!
