Well, over the past several days we've been doing our book week reading and activities at the house! Just to add in a fun little side note, this week also happens to be National Book Week, which I did not plan! They've been having a reading competition at school and talking a lot about it, so that increased the excitement even more! It's been fun for all of us!!
Read: The Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junk Food by Stan and Jan Berenstain
Activity: Cooking dinner together! Spaghetti and Meatballs(C is honestly a great cook and did the meatballs all by himself, rolled each of them pretty much perfect and was generally a pleasure in the kitchen. Note, S's face! She would not touch the raw meatball mixture with a 10ft pole!)
Read: The Carrot Seed by Crockett Johnson
Activity: Planted seeds to watch them grow - hopefully!
Read: Pablo the Artist by Satoshi Kitamura (We did this one online(www.justbooksreadaloud.com) just to switch things up a bit and the kids loved it! We listened to a couple of others as well!)
Activity: Painted with balloons. This was extremely messy and I had planned to have them do it out in the yard, but it was sooo windy that they ended up having to create in the garage! I was so worried the whole time that the balloons with paint on them were going to blow all over the garage!
Read: Who Pushed Humpty Dumpty? by David Levinthal and John Nickle
Activity: And I'm just now realizing I missed taking a picture for this one - oops!! But what I did was, got a 50 piece puzzle and put each piece in an Easter egg. I then hid the eggs outside, they found them and then put the puzzle together:)
Read: How to be a Nature Detective? by Millicent E. Selsam
Activity: Went on a nature scavenger hunt!
