Birthday on the Parkway

Today was in celebration of M's 31st birthday! Yesterday, M came home on his actual birthday to sweet sidewalk chalk drawings courtesy of S, we went out to dinner, had a homemade peach cake w/ sprinkles of course and he opened presents. But, today was spent as a family driving through the mountains waterfall hunting! I was worried how the kids would do being in the car for so long, but they did surprisingly well! S LOVED all the waterfalls we saw and C was all about getting his feet wet and even learned to throw rocks in the river like his sister:) There were several waterfalls on our route that were on my list to see(you know I had to plan this out and highlight our stops because I am just that way!), but with the little ones we weren't able to see them. Maybe this fall M and I will make a trip up by ourselves and hike to the ones we missed.
