13 Months

Here we are, my little guy's first monthly blog post as a one year old!!

He is a precious, sweet, curious, into-everything little boy! And, yes, he is sadly no longer a "baby" but a "boy" (although he'll always and forever be MY baby!).

Here is a recap of this past month:

  • taking 3-4 steps at a time consistently

  • climbs up on everything and has learned to push stuff over towards what he wants so he can climb on that too

  • still doesn't have many words but can babble with the best of them when he wants to

  • has all of his teeth (until the 2 year molars start coming in which I hope will be a while to give us a break from teething)

  • used a spoon to feed himself applesauce (a complete mess but he did get some into his mouth!)

  • only gets one bottle a day now, at night

  • eats like he is a teenager which scares me for when he actually is a teenager!

  • weighs 22lb11oz

  • wears all 18 month clothes

  • sleeps at night from 7:30pm-6/7am - the 7am days make me happy:) and still catches a catnap in the morning (typically less than 30 minutes) and takes a nap from 1:30-3pm

  • eats 3 meals a day, 2 snacks and gets his nighttime bottle. there really isn't too much that the kid won't eat

  • he drinks from a sippy cup very well now but does not seem to like milk. he prefers water and will drink so fast that he chokes himself, silly boy!

  • he likes to take toys, shoes, trash, etc. and drop it into some sort of container such as the trash can!

  • he climbs stairs like a champ and is figuring out how to come down although he likes to try and walk which isn't quite happening yet

  • it is getting harder to take him places and expect him to be content in a stroller. he wants to be in on the action. I usually take him somewhere (pool, playground, inflatable places, etc) and let him play for the first 30-45 minutes and then put him in the stroller with a snack for the rest of the time we are there.

  • seems to love animals although he does get scared when LARGE animals get close to his face (I don't blame him!)
