4th of July Weekend

So we had a great, family and friends-centered weekend!

M took off Friday from work, so we made the most of it by going out to breakfast at a new-to-us place, The Hungry Drover, just up the street and it was a delicious way to start the day!  We then went to the Swamp Rabbit Trail to burn off some calories and energy!  The kids rode their bikes and we ran(We can't keep up now, even running!  They've gotten too fast!).  It was perfect weather, cool and on the verge of raining, but the rain held out until just after we finished!

Friday night we met Melanie and her family downtown to let the kids play in the fountain(it was unseasonable cool, so they didn't last too long!), ate dinner at a roof top joint and finished off the night at a 4th of July concert where we listened to great music, the kids got their faces painted and I spent the entire concert(an entire 1.5 hours!!!!) in line for balloon animals for the kids!  At least I had a view of the stage from where I was standing and was enduring with Melanie and another friend we ran into down there!

Saturday dawned a drizzly morning, but we squeaked in another bike ride, this time around the neighborhood, while M and I ran.  We did about 2 miles!  We then spent a good amount of time cleaning the house before going to the Verga's for a pool party and cookout!  So nice to have good neighbors!!  We put the kids to bed early and then were surprised by the amount of fireworks we could sit on our back porch and watch!  Lovely!!

This morning we were exhausted after too many late nights!  The kids and I stayed home from church while M still had to go and do his deacon stuff!  Afterwards, our Sunday School class came over for lunch and fellowship!  I love them!!  We have so much fun with them!!

After everyone had left and we had cleaned up I was able to make a much needed run to the grocery, we grilled out and then went down the street and visited with our neighbors who live on the lake!  Their yard(and house for that matter) is amazing and the catfish and bass at their dock are HUGE!  We were all captivated by them and the stories that Mr. Jerry told!  It was yet another late night visiting, but it's good to have relationships with your neighbors and we are glad to be getting to know some even better!

Hungry kids at The Hungry Drover!

We were always way behind on the Swamp Rabbit Trail!
