Spring Break 2015

We typically don't go anywhere for Spring Break but, instead, find lots of things to do locally that we don't otherwise do!

Here is our week:

Monday - The kids and I went bike riding at Furman, ate a treat at Yogurt Mountain, played at Herdklotz Park, and got a much needed car wash before coming home to play with neighbors and clean out my car!

I was chasing these two speed demons the entire way around the lake!

In the clock tower when the clock struck noon!  Oh it sounded
so pretty!  And there were like 5 songs that they played on
the bells after the twelve "dongs" of the clock!

I'm pretty sure she was sitting on a nest - she did not dare move
from that spot while we were there gawking at her!  But I'm pretty
sure she wasn't too happy to see us there either!

This was our first time going to Yogurt Mountain!  Very cool place!
Luckily, though, I'd been warned how expensive it can be and knew to
keep the toppings to a minimum!  Even still, it was
a bit on the ridiculous side!!!

They still didn't want to go home after yogurt, so we went to
a park we have not been to in a very, very long time!  And there
are two playgrounds there and this is the older kids one that we
have never been on before!  Both kids thought it was the best one
ever!  We will be going back again!
A YMCA camp came while we were there and the playground
was way too crowded!  Luckily we had the soccer ball in the car
and were able to play on the fields a bit before calling it a day!

I stopped at the car wash on the way home!  These kids think
it is the best!!

I thought it was funny that all kids were wearing the same color
shirts!!
Tuesday - Both kids had separate play dates!  C was able to join in the girls' egg hunt before heading to the park for his play date.  After the play dates, C wasn't feeling too good:(  I had planned for both kids to go to a gymnastics camp for a couple of hours that afternoon so that I could get some stuff done.  A friend was able to use C's spot, so I dropped S off and brought C home and after the camp, our friend brought S back to the house!  It worked out pretty well other than me not getting to get some stuff done!  Oh well, such is the life of a mom!!

Susan sent me some pictures which you know I LOVED!

You can tell this is where it started to go downhill for the boy!
She was so excited to do gymnastics! And I think pretty
pumped that Kate was going to be there with her(but don't
tell her brother!!)!
Poor baby!

S was glad Kate could join her for the camp:)

Thanks, Amy, for the action shot:)

Wednesday:  We met Amanda and her kids to dye eggs the natural way!  Unfortunately, the natural dyes are not nearly as effective as the store-bought kits!  The kids didn't mind too much, though!  They were just as happy to play outside, running around like little crazies:)  Afterwards, we headed to the library for some more movies and books to enjoy over the break.  After some rest at the house, we made one more outing to visit with Marcy and her girls on our old street!  Whew!  I slept good this night!!

We went to the main library since we were that way anyway
and there were so many computers for the kids to use!  We were
the only ones there using them this day, but even if we hadn't been,
it is nice that we wouldn't have to fight over the only 2 working
computers if there were more kids there!  I'm pretty sure they would
have stayed here all afternoon, but my belly was hungry:)

C bouncing Miley super high!

Cupcake break;)

A little Go Fish before bed!  C rocked it his game, but his
attention span was gone by game #2!

Thursday: We started out a bit slower on Thursday!  We hung around the house a bit longer before making our way to the gym.  We came home for lunch and then waiting for Amy, Mya and Max to come for an egg-dying play date!  The kids each dyed eggs, ate cupcakes again, and we had an egg hunt with hidden money in two of the eggs!  It was nice to have them to our house after imposing on them at their house so many times in the past!

It was raining, so we did a playroom egg hunt:)

After our guests left, the kids put stickers and what not
on their eggs as finishing touches:)!
Friday: On the last day of break, we went to the gym, ate lunch at Jason's Deli and then had a great time with just the three of us at Lake Conestee Nature Park!  I warned the kids I would be taking lots of pictures as the weather was overcast and perfect for getting some good shots:)  They played on the playground for a while - C finally was able to do the monkey bars after lots of practice and tears and with the peer pressure S did it as well:)  They were very proud of themselves!  We then took a hike along the trails!  We saw three huge military planes coming to land that seemed almost close enough to touch, a tall heron(I think that is what is was anyway?), and of course lots of mud to play in with our walking sticks!  When we got back to the playground, it was packed!  The kids played for a bit longer, but soon it was time to leave!

This is how the morning started!

Successful at wearing them out!  Couldn't even handle standing
while we waited for our meat order at the grocery store!:)
Even brought on some rare, quiet reading for the boy!
I am officially, 110% worn out from this week!  But, honestly, I enjoyed myself and most of the time I enjoyed the kids(when they weren't fighting or throwing tantrums!)!!

Now... bring on the weekend!:)
