Divisionals Week and Meets

Sunday - Talent Show and Theme Reveal
These three did a lip singing skit to High Hopes - it was so good!

The coaches came out to reveal the theme for this year's divisional week...

Waves Go West!

S, Louden and Anna in action!
Monday - Horse Racing at the OK Corral in the morning.  Practice at the pool where the divisionals meet would take place, Sugar Creek(literally in the same neighborhood!), followed by a pool party back at our pool!

Pool Party!

Tuesday - We skipped all activities on Tuesday because we were worn out!

Wednesday - Wednesday morning the kids did line dancing and got their Divisionals Buddies.  C was paired with Sam and S was paired with Ruthie and Sadie!  The girls especially were all so excited and holding hands afterwards:)  Wednesday afternoon was when all the kids dressed up and had a costume contest - they were so stinkin' cute!  Practice ended with snow cones all around!

Thursday - Thursday morning the coaches had Watermelon races in the pool! It was hysterical and a lot of fun to watch.  Thursday night was the Pasta Pump Up!  The kids all had SO MUCH FOOD provided.  After everyone was done eating, their were skits and then a scavenger hunt around the neighborhood and M was able to do the hayride(and I scored by riding in the bed of the truck to make sure the kids were sitting and under control!).  When the kids returned to the pool, their divisional gifts(bags, shirts and swim caps) were waiting for them!

These coaches are THE BEST!!

Coach's skit

He loved the skits!

The skit involved the coaches spitting water on everyone - gross!
These coaches are such good sports!

M and Daniel were the lone men on the scavenger hunt!

Friday - We took it easy Friday morning and I let the kids sleep in a bit and skip practice in anticipation of a very long and tiring weekend!  C's 10 &Under Divisionals Meet started at 3pm Friday afternoon.  He swam both relays(backstroke in the medley), IM, breaststroke and backstroke.  He did amazing!!

His times from last year vs. this year:

25 Freestyle last year 22.62, this year 20.08
25 Backstroke last year 32.7, this year 26.65
25 Breaststroke last year 31.03, this year 25.39(PR at Divisionals!)
25 Butterfly last year 34.89, this year 28.46
50 Freestyle last year 54.00, this year 49.95
100 IM last year 2:17.31, this year 1:58.79(PR at Divisionals!)

This is how we prepare for a big swim meet.. LOL!

S and Anna were there to cheer their siblings on!

The crowds were so large in this division compared to the division we use to be
in - we went from the very bottom gold division to the very top red division!

Just a random shot of part of the pool

S and the coaches taking a quick break from cheering when we didn't have
any swimmers in the water!

I was timing during C's IM and breaststroke so wasn't able to get
pictures, but here is his backstroke

He had been wanting a snow cone all meet!
Luckily, there is a team photographer for each team at divisionals and she got these pictures:

C headed up to swim something... maybe breaststroke?

Saturday - S and I were up bright and early to be at the pool by 7:30am for warm ups and a 9:30am start time for the 11 & Up Divisionals Swim Meet.  She swam breaststroke, long free and backstroke.  Because of that and the fact that she wasn't in any relays, she didn't start her swim until 11;30am which is what time C and M got to the meet!  She had fun socializing though so it was great fun for her!  She also had an amazing meet!!  Luckily, we were able to leave after her backstroke event and then they had a really long rain delay just after that!  Whew!

Her times from last year vs. this year(not all of them are comparable because she is not swimming longer lengths for her events!):

50 Freestyle last year 46.58, this year 40.92
50 Backstroke this year 48.22(PR at Divisionals!)
50 Breaststroke this year 51.90
50 Butterfly this year 51.58
100 Freestyle this year 1:30.59(PR at Divisionals!)
100 IM last year 2:03.30, this year 1:51.30
