Langston Family Reunion 2012

Yesterday we made the 2.5 hour drive to the reunion, stayed 4.5 hours and then drove home! I'm not going to say we weren't all exhausted when our heads finally hit our pillows, but we did have an absolutely, positively wonderful time! The kids were as good as we could have expected them to be(and maybe a bit more!) and we enjoyed visiting with with M's family so much! I had to draw a family tree on the drive home because I'm tired of not knowing who is who and how everyone is related.

S and C were the youngest ones there by several years and they both loved hanging out with the big kids - particularly S! There was a 7 week old puppy that one of the little girls had and she was inseparable from that dog the entire time we were there until they took the dog up to the house! After that she was content with throwing hazelnut shells in the water and watching in awe as William called the cows down from the fields. UNREAL!!

C was enthralled by the pond(which he constantly was running towards!), Walter's truck(he can actually pick the correct truck key out of about 20 on a key ring every time and get it IN the ignition and then tried to put it gear. It won't be long before he is able to crank it up and do some damage!)and checking out the cows! I love that we are able to have a build a relationship with family and hope that we can make a trip down there before the next reunion next year!! SO special for us and our kids!

A funny story! On the way home, M is driving and we are not quite to Clinton, SC yet and he looks at the gas gauge and says "Oh wow! We need gas!". We check the range(how many miles our car says until we are out of gas and it reads "0"!!!!!! OH.MY.GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We look around and there is N.O.T.H.I.N.G. in sight! I start trying to do the Flintstone method of using my feet to run against the floorboard - to no avail! M slows down to about 55mph and starts putting the car in neutral when we go down hills. We went about 4-5 more miles (just so you know, even if the gauge says you are out of gas, the gas light is on and your range is 0 you can still apparently go a little further!) and were giddy when we saw a sign for a BP gas station! We must have gotten there on fumes and God's mercy because the tank was bone dry!! We were so thankful to not be out of gas and stranded on the road with our babies! God surely watched over us yesterday!
