Nutcracker!!!

We have been in Nutcracker craziness that past week - well, S has been rehearsing for months, but it has been every night this week of either rehearsals or performances!  She was a soldier and an angel this year.  She has loved every minute of it and dances the dances of all the parts on stage at the house constantly!  

Friday, two performances are done - one in the morning for schools and the other in the evening as an outreach program for the community! Saturday there is an evening performance - I was able to be back stage helping serve dinner on this night.  And, today was an afternoon performance and this is the one that we attended along with Grandpa, Gigi, Grandmamma and Granddaddy!  44

S did wonderfully and was actually sad when the curtain drew today!  But, never fear, the fun wasn't over yet!  After the performance, the dancers and their families are invited to the cast party which is always done very fancy!  We joined all the other tired Nutcracker families and watched as the kids ran around like crazies, eating sweets and having a generally amazing time!  M and I saw some adults that we've met along the way through dance and met some of S's new friends' parents too!  C found his buddies from last year's cast party and picked up right where he'd left off!  It was a great way to end the Nutcracker season and S is already talking about what part she's hoping to get next year!

I saw this when I was backstage!  Because several of the soldiers

from Act 1 are also angels in Act 2, they have to do a quick

change and have all their stuff laid out and ready to go!

Sunday:

This kid has seen way more Nutcracker performances than

most 7 year old boys!  He scored a huge Nutcracker, and so

did S, from Gigi and Grandpa this time:)
