The kids and I made a short weekend trip to Atlanta to visit Grandpa and Gigi this weekend!!
We picked S up from school and were on our way! The traffic in Atlanta was horrendous with wrecks in every direction!! What should have been a three hour trip, turned into FIVE hours!!! We were soooo ready to get there!
We all slept decent(C was only up two times which is good for him on a first night away from home!) and were ready for the day on Saturday! Gigi and Grandpa played all morning with the kids and then took them to the neighborhood playground and a walk up to the Dollar Tree after lunch while I had a glorious two hours to sit and watch TV... ahhh!! It was great! When they got back, we regrouped and headed to Kennesaw Mountain to do some hiking and letterboxing! The hiking ended up being way further than we had planned(2.3 miles!) and we never did find the letterbox(so disappointing!)! But, it was fun and we were even lucky enough to have Uncle Bobby join us! After we finally returned to the car, we made a mad dash for dinner at the Marietta Diner! DELISH!!!
This morning, we got up and leisurely got ready for church! We go pretty much every time we visit Atlanta, so probably about 4 times a year, and I have not seen Bryant Wright, the pastor at JFBC, preach live in probably 8 years. Well, well, I had to take a picture because I saw him in the flesh this morning! He delivered a great message as always, and the kids enjoyed their classes too! After service we said goodbye and got on the road home! This time it took the normal three hours:) Hallelujah!
