The Road to Championships!!!!!

This week has been all about preparing for Championships and Classics (C&C)!

Between all the regular practices, they have also loved having practice at the Westside Aquatic Center in the big pool, another "Pump Up" dinner, received their C&C shirts(super excited to be able to sport these!) and we got another week with our swim team friends and families!

Medley Relay - minus 1!

Finally, the big day was here!  We were up bright and early, filling bellies with good food and heading to the pool!  We saw so many friends, and cousins, at Championships and it was fun to cheer them on as well!

Both kids had amazing meets, breaking all of their personal best times in every event that they swam!

S's medley relay came in 2nd(taking 2 seconds off) and she had a 16th place finish in her backstroke with a time of 23.42!

C's medley relay came in 2nd(taking 6 seconds off!), his free relay came in 4th place(taking 5 seconds off!), had a 21st place finish in short free(22.49), 4th place finish in IM(2:12.04 - he took 5 seconds off is season best which is amazing!) and a 12th place finish is breaststroke(30.05).

What a day to be in the pool!  They had such great seasons!

C in lane 7!  Don't remember if this is short free or IM, I'm
thinking IM!

Check out that start for C - cat-like reflexes at work... LOL!

S and Sam(S's best friend from preschool)

Today, after those that were in Classics finished, all the kids who participated in C&C met for one last brouhaha at Dairy Queen to celebrate a job well done and receive even more awards!

Swim team season is officially over... summer part 1 has come to an end... now on to the rest of our summer!!!!
