The Road to Championships and the Meet

Bright and early last Monday morning, the coaches arrived at our house to wake the kids up with the good news of which events they had made it to C&C in!  Both of them made it in all of their events to Championships!  I hadn't told them the night before like I usually do, all they knew is that they needed to "clean their room" because they'd each made it in something!

We arrived at the pool a couple hours later for doughnuts and getting their shirts ordered!

The week was full of practices!

Thursday, we had evening practice at the Westside Aquatic Center followed by a stop at Yogurt Mountain!

Then, finally, Saturday arrived and the kids were ready for their meet!

S:
short free 8th place 32.79(PR)
long free 12th place 1:16.19(PR)
butterfly 11th place 37.33(PR)

C:
Medley Relay(swam backstroke) 7th place 2:46.96(they added 2 seconds to their seed time, but they are all 11 years olds, so they'll be back next year!)
IM 11th place 1:32.76(PR)
breaststoke 23rd place 50.26(not his best!)
backstroke 4th place 42.17(PR)
Free Relay(swam  leg 4) 5th place 2:25.12(they took 4 seconds off their seed time!)

A job well done by both of them!  And, of course,
Daniel the jackfruit!;)

And, the Grand Finale!  C&C Awards night back up at the pool tonight!  S spent the day back over at the aquatic center cheering on her friends that were participating in Classics!  Then, her and her friends came back to the house and cut open the jackfruit to discover that it is disgusting and extremely disgusting!  We came in on 2 wheels to the awards and pizza night at the pool!

S has become close to Coach Ariel!

After the awards, S and her friends went
downtown for pictures and ice cream! One
last bru-haha!

Til next year!  Go Waves!!
