Spring Break - Chattanooga

Next stop... Chattanooga!

We checked into the hotel Thursday night, unloaded the car, and went downtown for dinner and a walk around the river area!

Nothing like sliding down hug grassy hills on
cardboard;)

Friday, we were up bright and early and after a lovely breakfast(thanks, Embassy Suites!), went to Ruby Falls.  This was an experience the kids had never had before, walking through a cave underground to a huge waterfall!  They thought it was pretty neat, but my claustrophobia was kicking in by the time we got out of there!  I'm so glad we were early to rise, as the line was ridiculous when we left!  We then went to Rock City which was also not very crowded(yet!).  It was so much better than I even remember it being - it turned out to be one of the kids' favorites of the trip!  Because we'd been up so early and hadn't slept fantastic that night, we went back to the hotel for a nap and a swim before our next adventure - a dinner cruise on the Tennessee River.  This was one of my favorite things and even though the weather was not perfect it was so enjoyable and relaxing - I honestly thought C was going to be lulled to sleep during it!

After an eventful Friday, we slept much better last night!  This morning we were a little slower getting started, but still managed to be some of the first to arrive for the Incline Railroad.  Now, the weather did not involve rain today, but we were socked in with fog and wind and cold!  The views from the top were non existent but the experience of  a 76% incline was still there!  LOL!  We then went to the Tennessee Aquarium which was in two separate buildings and very well spread out so that the flow of people going through was very accommodating!  We ate lunch in downtown Chattanooga and then left town to drive to Pigeon Forge.

Slooooow to get moving!

ZERO visibility! haha!

Nose-to-nose with a gator!

I asked everyone what they most wanted to see at the
aquarium before we arrived and M said a seahorse!
This was the best we could do:)

We got to Pigeon Forge just in time to grab dinner on the way to the hotel and then enjoyed some down time at the hotel playing ping pong and swimming!
