I had some extra time on my way to C's
scrimmage in TR, so I stopped at Furman
and walked a bit

C had the flu for a week this month!  He was
taking naps every day!

We had a light dusting one day!  It only lasted an hour or so - 
not even enough for them to cancel school!

C hasn't had a chance to practice with SCS for pole vaulting
much because of soccer!  He was out here for a couple hours
this day when he was able to be there!

First SCS Soccer Scrimmages

C made the JV soccer team at Southside!  This week they've had two scrimmages.  The first was at Travelers Rest and the second was against Woodruff at home.  The coach is moving him around to lots of different positions right now trying to figure out the team strengths and weaknesses!  But, he is playing the whole game so at least he is getting a lot of touches on the ball this season even if the team is not that great;)

Lake Days

We've spent a few days over the past week up at the lake.  Even though it is cold, it is still my favorite place!  It is so relaxing and peaceful in the winter!  

He ended up catching a BIG bass, but didn't have
a phone with him to document it!  He was super
excited about it, though!

since there aren't many people up there with their house
lights on right now!

I love this fire on TV option!  It crackles and pops
and sounds so real!

DECA State

Back in October, S placed first at region for DECA and punched her ticket to the state competition.  The past few days she has been in Charleston competing!  She made it to the top 16 and competed made it to the semifinals.  Ultimately, she did not qualify to compete at Nationals in April, but she will be attending as an at-large member and is super excited about it!  She really seems to enjoy DECA and the competitions!  When they weren't competing in Charleston, they were living it up in the beautiful city and partying together at the conference center!  What a fun experience!  Bring on Nationals!!

Fishing Holly Tree Golf Course

 With permission, C and Bryce fished Holly Tree Golf Course this morning.  Unfortunately, they did not catch anything!  But it's better than them sitting around playing video games;)

Kleckner Invitational Track Meet

Every year that we've been at SCS, they have hosted the Frank Kleckner meet in memory of a track coach that passed away a few years ago!

This is a high school meet only, so C had not ever actually participated in it!  He's always attended, though;)

This year, he was very helpful with running the meet!  He served as hurdle crew and helped to reset the bar at the pole vault pit!  A lot of work goes into a track meet and I'm glad he's able to better appreciate that as he learns more and volunteers his time more!

Quail Hunting and Wofford Basketball

M and C went quail hunting this morning!  The weather was questionable with wind and rain(quail won't fly in the rain!) and I discouraged them from making the trip.  However, it turned out to be a perfect morning hunt!  They hit their limit early and got home before expected!

As soon as they got home, M and I went to see a Wofford basketball game.  C didn't want to go and S was at a wrestling match.  I love to go watch games and I also wanted to check out Wofford's amazing indoor basketball gym, so M appeased me! We had a lot of fun and of course, the gym was incredible!

Valentine's Day

The morning started out with the kids receiving their goodies at breakfast!  

M came home with flowers for me and S and then we went to dinner at my favorite place, Soby's! Downtown was beautiful and lively tonight with all the people out for Valentine's!  We even made it into the background of a news report! Oops!

Galentine's Party

S hosted a few of her friends for a Galentine's Party!  

She had a ball decorating and shopping for all the food!  Gigi came in clutch with stuff to help make the vision into a reality!
