Baby It's Cold!
S has no insulation on her little body and thought that it was absolute freezing this morning! HA!! Silly girl:) I'll admit that it has been cold in the mornings (upper 30s), but I think she is in for a rude awakening when it really does get super cold this winter!
Halloween Part 2
Yesterday we went to our church's fall festival! It is always a big festival each year and we had a blast! M was helping work one of the huge slides during the first shift so we were some of the first ones there which was really nice because we didn't have to wait in lines for the first hour or so! After that the lines were getting long and the attention span of our kids is only so long. We did the inflatables, all the preschool games, the cake walk, the HUGE slide that Daddy was helping with, rode the train and the hayride and roasted marshmallows. We also got S's face painted and she got a dog balloon made for her and both kids got a tattoo:) This time we had learned our lesson from yesterday and we had C in a stroller. Much better!
This morning S had dance class and the kids were allowed to wear their costumes! Adorable!:) She has a small class of six kids(one was late and missed the pictures) and I am liking it like this! She gets more attention from the teacher in a smaller class and there are not as many people in the waiting area so C can run crazy while we are out there!
Tonight was actually Halloween! We went trick-or-treating at I think four neighbors' houses. S thought it was the best thing! I loved it for her that just four houses sends her over the moon and am glad that she had fun:)

Halloween Part 1
Yesterday I kept a couple of friends' kids for most of the day so we were due to get out of the house after C got up from his nap! I took the kids to Roper Mountain for the Green Halloween festivities! This was so much fun and they had a lot to offer the kids - crafts, snacks, stories, games and trick-or-treating on the farm! This was probably my favorite thing we did for Halloween this year and is going to become a tradition for us! Although, I didn't think to dress the kids in their costumes. Oh well! They didn't know the difference:)
This afternoon we met Cousin Will, Melanie and Sean at Enchanted Tracks at the Pavilion. The bigger kids loved it but we didn't bring a stroller for the little guy and he was a bit much to handle! He doesn't like to stay in one place and was EVERYWHERE but he was also too little to really participate in the activities there. We learned our lesson and will be taking a stroller with us for tomorrow's Halloween fun!

Time with Just the Boy
On Thursdays S goes to school and I have just C-man with me. Today C threw an absolute fit when we left the school because he wasn't getting to stay. He loves school as much as she does! Maybe next year he'll be able to go more than once a week.
After I finally managed to get him strapped in the car seat (which was quite a task considering he was arching his back and flailing his arms!) we went to Dunkin Donuts. I had a coupon for a free doughnut with the purchase of a coffee. So, coffee for me and a pumpkin doughnut for the boy. I thought he would absolutely love it, but he just thought it was okay and didn't even finish it! For a kid who eats everything, this totally surprised me.
Afterwards we went to the Bouncing Babies program they offer at our library. I did this a lot with S when she was little but just started taking C last week. Last week he was a bit shy at first but that didn't last long. He was one of those kids that didn't sit in my lap the entire time but wandered around checking everything/everyone out. He even managed to con some snacks out of some of the other moms there last week. I learned this week and brought snacks with me but once we got there I found out that since this was the Boo Bash and was a special event, they provided snacks! So fun and it was an extra bonus to have some friends meet us there too!

Breakfast with My Girl
On some occasions, S gets up before C and we are able to have a little time together in the morning with just the two of us:) This nightgown is one Gigi brought last time she was here and it is S's absolute favorite that she would wear every night if Mommy could just do laundry that fast!!

Peter Pan and BBQ
Today was very, very busy! M spent the day BBQing for dinner with some friends so I had the kids. Away we went to a local children's theatre to hear Peter Pan during story time. I was told that I would be able to have a stroller there which at this stage is almost a necessity to contain the little guy if I am also to watch S at the same time. WELLLLLL... the room for the story was upstairs and there was not an elevator. Ugg... He did pretty well considering we were there for over an hour but I did have to do some chasing as he has no attention span and listening to a story is not high on his list of interests:) S on the other hand had a great time! The kids all got to pick out dress up clothes from two huge chests of costumes. S chose a princess of course. They played games, did interactive stories and listened to a story. What fun for the kids! The story was Peter Pan and afterwards Nana (the dog in the story) made an appearance. S loves dogs, and animals in general, so this was an extra little bonus surprise for her.
After all of this, we went home for naps and then back out we went to the most amazing BBQ I've ever been to. The brains behind the cooking, James, was at it starting at 6am. At 6pm, when we ate, we enjoyed a most delicious dinner!

Pumpkin Patch
It's hard to imagine Halloween without a trip to the pumpkin patch for the infamous "kids with the pumpkins" pictures! While my mom was in town and I had an extra pair of hands, we decided to go for it. I chased one kid with the camera in an attempt to get something (anything!) blog-worthy while Mom chased the other kid! Luckily, we got there just in time to take some pictures, bounce on the inflatables, play in the hay fort and hear a story before the rain started. Whew! We did it!!

Sky Top
Today after church we went to Sky Top Orchard for our annual apple picking. We had tried new places last month, but none of them could quite compare to Sky Top. So, off we went! We had to hike FOREVER to get to any of the apples. Whew! I had originally planned to go this past week and take the kids by myself. So glad I didn't do that! We had a stroller for C and that lasted until we got to the bottom of the mountain and then he wanted O.U.T.! He was off and running and loving his apple. Although, he kept slipping on the fallen apples and ended up on the ground quite a bit. And, each time he fell, he'd come up with a new apple - some rotten, some half-eaten by someone else. Bleh! We stopped by the sheep and goats on our way back up the oh so long upward climb, bought some apples(we didn't want to lug a huge basket of apples back up so we left our basket at the bottom and we were not the only ones who did this because there was a stash of baskets down there! plus the kinds we wanted were nowhere to be found that we could pick!), ate yummy doughnuts and played on the playground. We were all plum exhausted by the time we got back into the car to drive home! This year was by far the hardest year we've had apple picking. The ages of the kids kept us working hard then entire time. Maybe in another couple of years it won't be as much work and will be more relaxing... maybe:) Don't get me wrong, we had fun and are glad to make the memories, but we will definitely sleep good tonight!
