July 2026 Randoms

 

S is officially registered for classes at Wofford!

Worker Man, C

S and I, along with her new roommate and her mom
took a trip up to the Charlotte IKEA store to do 
a little dorm room shopping!  This is the only
picture I took...LOL!

Having to work late to catch up from being out so much
this summer... but luckily I have 2 screens and could watch
the World Cup game as I worked! 

C learned to change the oil in his truck!

A warm glass straight from the dishwasher
and a cold smoothie is apparently NOT
a smart idea!  Oops!

C decided to leave S a little note!  He can
be very funny!  She thought it was from me!  I
am actually a little offended that my 
handwriting can be confused with a 
16 year old boy!  

S has been ordering away for her dorm room!

I won 4 tickets to the MLS All Star game!  I never win
anything!  And, of course, everyone in my family
is working the next morning and the game is 
at 8pm in Charlotte!  BOO!  I found a 
friend who was able to use them and had a
great time, though!

I requested this from the library
a while ago and just now it was my turn!
So good!

I spent hours listening to it as I sat of the 
front porch...

S spent a lot of time putting her dorm
furniture together so we wouldn't have to 
deal with it the day of move in!

Hours were spent on the back porch too listening to 
Calamity Club on audio!:)  I only have 14 days before
it auto returns so I was locked in - plus it was really good!

Highlands, NC

I had a free Friday so I went up to Highlands for lunch and shopping!  I left a hot and humid Greenville and entered a cool, much less humid NC mountain town!  Pure bliss!!!

A Couple of Lake Weekends

The past two weekends at the lake have been shorter with other activities forcing us to arrive later and leave earlier!  My favorite place is still worth making the drive to even if it's not as long as I'd like to be there!

M and I went for a walk after a rainstorm and
saw three groupings of deer along the way for a total of 
13!!

BBGs Take Over Pawley's

S was finally able to rejoin her friends at Pawley's after having vacation scheduling conflicts the past two years!!  They all love each other so much and we are so thankful for the Kapatonikis family for opening their beach house to them for the week!!

Sawyer's Bday Party

C knocked off work early today to head to Sawyer's bday party!  I think they had a big time!!

Bree's Bday at Bridgeway

We had so.much.fun celebrating Bree's birthday at Bridgeway!  We just made ourselves at home with Mahjong and drinks in the castle-like setting and laughed and played a few games! The bees were kinda bad, though, so we moved our fun inside the food hall where we set up shop, ate dinner and closed the place down:)  

Lake Week 2026

I believe this is our 3rd annual lake week!

We decided that because we returned from Spain not too long ago, we'd stay at the lake the week after July 4th instead of the week before.

We were definitely busy, busy and had so many family and friends come hang out with us throughout the week!

We started off with C's friends for his birthday!  They stayed the night, tubed, surfed, did flips off the neighbor's dock, fished, and ate ice cream sundaes!  Whew!  C should have felt well-celebrated!

While M was taking the boys back to Greenville, Laura and Liz and her family made it up for the night! We always have such a good time visiting with them!  S was still with her friends at Lake Hartwell so she missed out on the fun unfortunately, but the rest of us floated and tubed and watched fireworks at The Reserve from the lake.  A great way to spend the Fourth of July!!

S spent a few days at Lake Hartwell with her friends before joining us!

Gigi and Grandpa made the trip up for the day!  We went to lunch at The Lighthouse and then spent the afternoon floating!  And, of course, celebrated C's birthday again:)

A few more friends came up throughout the week and lived lake life with us!

We were also able to spend a little bit of time with just our family of four!

We also threw in a trip to see Thomas Rhett in Greenville.  M and I had tickets that we purchased a while ago but were not sure until the day of whether or not we were going to go, S went last minute with a friend, and we left C at the lake with pizza and video games:)  Everyone was happy!

What a great week!  I think next year we should see about doing two weeks at the lake:)
