Weekend at the Lake

After a very busy few weeks, the past couple of years we've driven back from Atlanta and stayed up at the lake for a few days to decompress and just be a family!  Whew!  It is always such a sweet, beautiful time at one of my most favorite places!  This year I managed to complete an entire 1000 piece puzzle that S gave me in less than 48 hours;)  M and C took the boat out fishing a few times and we spent one evening over the Mays' house for a low country boil!  

Thanksgiving 2024

We went to Gigi and Grandpa's house again this year for Thanksgiving!  I think this will be the last year they have to host as Robert and Jennifer purchased a new house and most likely it'll be ready for guests next year;)  The weather barely cleared up in time for us to enjoy being outside after lunch, but it did!  What a special time to spend with our family!

Hunting in Illinois

As soon as C's soccer tournament was over on Sunday, he and M headed out to Illinois for their annual hunting trip!  They drove part of the way Sunday and then the rest of the way on Monday!  They had a successful trip and C shot the biggest one to date for him!  He was a happy camper!

Teacher Cadet

S has been taking a class at school that is actually a Clemson class that allows high schoolers to experience what being a teacher is like.  The first part of the semester they were at the high school learning and preparing and the second part of the semester they went to their chosen/assigned school to be in the classroom every day!  S selected to be with a 4th grade class at a Title 1 school and absolutely loved every minute of it!  She helped with lesson plans, grading and part of her grade was to make a lesson plan of her own and lead an entire  lesson while her teacher from the high school observed!  There were so many components to this program and really was a great experience all around!  S was one of two students selected as having a Heart of a Teacher and received an award and a position on an advisory board next year!  Such an accomplishment!  S has opted to do the second part of this Clemson program next year she enjoyed it so much!

CESA Fall Challenge Tournament

Another weekend and another tournament win for these boys!!!  Gigi and Grandpa were able to come and watch the frigid Friday night game and join us for dinner afterwards!  Such a treat!  Also, added bonus, we defeated two of our own CESA teams, CESA Pachuca and CESA E64(who is technically a level above us!), which I'm thinking the parents were actually more ecstatic about this than the boys were!  LOL!  We have a very competitive parent section! What a weekend!!
